I just want to recognize two people for their hard work in organizing last night's Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Buffalo Broadcasters Association President Dave Gillen and Hall of Fame Chairman Don Angelo are largely responsible for making last night's event the success it was. They were assisted by many other Association members. I won't name names because I don't want to miss anyone. But I want the broadcasting community here in Buffalo to know that this is entirely a volunteer effort. They did a wonderful job and are deserving of our thanks.
Also, congratulations to this year's inductees -- Dick Rifenberg, Mike Mombrea Sr., Ron Rice, Susan Banks, Kevin O'Connell and Don Criqui. If you didn't make it, check out today's Buffalo News for a nice summary of the event.
While this board is a great way to share stories from the past and present, Buffalo Broadcasters is preserving the physical history of our industry -- old film and audio tapes, discarded control boards, etc. -- and recognizing the contributions of so many legendary broadcasters through the Hall of Fame. So, I just wanted to send out kudos for a job well done.
