TVY was a 3 share when we took it over, a 16 when we left, and is a 4 today.
We developed "My" as we left and that had two good books until it was messed with.
You guys just make me LMFAO.
Bluewater is attempting to help here and making a good move.
Hmmm...I just had to make some corrections....as usual. Let's take them 1 by 1, shall we?
A 21.3 F18-34 is your idea of kmx floundering? I think (I don't have time on the blackberry) we've actually got u admitting in some previous threads that kmx wasn't as bad as you like to proclaim. IM me and once again my offer stands to email you a pdf copy of the book (2005).
The floundering came after aa took over playing prince, madonna, and kelly clarkson every 8 minutes.
TVY got the high numbers because of....well, see above. Reminds me of my favorite picture...

I believe MY was put in place after aa and styles were pushed out by the magician.
Now, Bluewater, yes, is probably trying to help.
The problem is that they are repeating many of the mistakes of others brought in from out of market that don't understand that Dothan is unlike almost any other market.
Anyone who works/has worked and succeeded in Dothan knows it's very odd.
The Styles/Magic group could have been a much bigger success. But there was too much in-fighting....between management. Owners/investors each trying to control the company and take it in different direction. A husband and wife team doing....things that weren't quite right. And a magician getting other employees to let him know things going on. Then, pushing them out of the way once he got the info he needed to do what he did. (vague on purpose)
The cluster had a team in place a few years ago that had a plan that, knowing the market, would work.
Instead, out of market people were brought in to fix things that were broken on purpose!
AA brought in with 1 purpose...to help tvy ratings no matter which sister stations got hurt (and no matter how much the other stations brought in revenue wise)
There was Keith (who bailed when he had the chance...just as we told the magician he would)
Then all the CC guys don brought in
And now bluewater.
Heck, it almost sounds like aa is vying for another go round. That my friend, is lmfao.
Successful companies? Yes. PD of a 5 station cluster.
Thanks for playing!
Husband and wife team do just fine. They've run over a dozen very successful stations and now operate or partner in extremely successful non-radio businesses.
WTVY was absolutely the main focus and it was done correctly and it WON.
AP deserves a lot of that credit ... it was a good team, and a winning team.
My was a Styles idea and launched prior to my departure. The former WKMX people were a good choice.
My question is, other than JH, how many of the old WKMX people are still working in radio?
I actually think a lot of the old WKMX staffers are good radio people... it's the way they make up things that aren't true.
I have to agree and disagree somewhat. Yes The Team at TVY and Amie did have some good numbers and we all know what made them "The Legends Luxury" Thing it was good for the listeners and good for the Advertisers . But Trading Dollar For Dollar as Amie did on a Lawn Mower Etc.Etc. does not bring revenue into the station. And most importantly it shows clients that Radio has no true dollar value,Everything hinges on the almighty dollar. She doesn't relize that she just wanted numbers but soon after they started falling.
Yes the old crew at KMX did know what they were doing why mess with local people that were making money for the station ? It is sad that the Wiregrass was once full of local influence but now It's down to one WOOF... now there's a group that knows how to do local Radio all have lived in the Wiregrass for years.
Majic has 6 personalities on 5 stations. The Radio People has 10 on 4 stations, WOOF has 9 on 2. You be the judge
