Over the years this board (and the business of talk radio in general) has taught me a few things about radio listeners--especially in this market; the biggest lesson is that most people that criticize a radio personality and/or their comments didn't actually listen to them. It's not too dissimilar to all the flack Howard Stern received from radical Christian organizations that never heard his show but rather read small transcript segments or heard five to ten second audio cuts taken out of context--if even that.
I'll say with absolute respect to all who have posted in this thread that you're totally off base. If you heard Bruce's show last Thursday and Friday in it's entirety--or even MOST of it, you will understand he didn't take this woman to task personally. He did feel that she was 1) being used as a pawn in a chess game between Jack Harris, Phil Gordon and the illegal immigration issue. 2) He said it was unfortunate that this woman-who lost her husband because of the lack of law enforcement against illegals--was barking up the wrong tree. 3) He did say that what she is doing clouds the work that her husband did to ward off the crime spree associated with illegals in this community.
Now, you may disagree with the message, but to say he attacked her personally is ABSOLUTELY absurd, particularly if you actually listened to those shows. As a brief aside, you can listen to the entirety of Thursday and Friday's shows on KFYI's website (kfyi.com).
I've been on this board for a long time and I know when people have an ax to grind and when the criticism is fair. I've read many of your posts before and know that the vast majority of you that are criticizing Bruce would do so regardless of what he does or says, to you it's more personal. How totally sad. I've certainly been critical of Bruce here and there when he has deserved it, but this is not one of those times. Disagree with the opinion, fine, but don't do what so many half-wit talk radio listeners do and put words into someone's mouth.
