When is the flip? Listening to the stream (10aET / 7aPT) and it's still "K-Rock"
I have a feeling they're kidding. Weren't they the guys that reported the untimely "death" of the mayor of Boston? 
There were a whole bunch of posts on the NYRMB on this topic, but before I got to read them, Sniffen must have deleted them.

That was part of an April Fools prank. I think this is for real. A few moments ago they said there was another meeting scheduled for Monday to see where they will fit in. They may get moved to another CBS property. And they also said that GM Tom Chiusano may, I REPEAT, may step down as GM because he is not a Country guy.
All true. So now it's goodbye K-Rock. Goodbye Tom and good bye O&A.
With Chiusano exiting, a format flip might follow... But think about it, they just brought in Tracy Cloherty, whose resume was rooted at Hot 97.
I'd expect CBS to flip it to urban before country, and with a vulnerable WBLS, and the WQHT/WWPR "battle" not creating much of a buzz, I can definitely 92.3 wanting to strike the urban iron.

Tom Chiusano has confirmed he is stepping down as K-Rock GM to become a consultant. He also said that 92.3 is not going country.
As for O&A? They lose their D.C. outlet today but are still on in NYC.
Also, "urban" is a racist code word for R&B. All the R&B stations in NYC are well-established and CBS would have a death wish to add a fifth R&B signal in this market.

If they flip it to urban, or any other format, the outrage will be similar to what happened in Philly after Y100 flipped from alternative to urban. Another rock station replaced by a rap station. As if New York needs another. Country would be a good choice. If it's urban, it will probably sound like DC's 95.5 WPGC, since 92.3 will also want to compete with Z100 too.

Blah Blah Blah. The PC Police are at it again.
In Philly WYSP is kicking a$$ with their new cutting-edge rock format. I find it hard to believe that K-Rock in NYC hasn't done the same. Too many Chicken Rock cuts and too many "safe" and/or "established" tunes killed this station. What a waste.
They should have modeled themselves after this current incarnation of WYSP.
Someone steps down after 23 years, and suddenly its the end of Krock? huh? Sure it doesn't look good, but why can't this be part of some major "house cleaning" We all know O&A wasn't the right move for Krock mornings anyway... Maybe its a sign of better things to come...

"Take No Chances Radio, 92.3 KROCK"... Why yes, it is a crock. My local Cheap Channel rocker in freakin' market #189 has more adventurous playlists than KROCK. And a worse morning show, to boot (Bob and Tom, yeeech.)

As a listener....
I feel like K-Rock is starting to hit its stride. Its imaging sucks...complete crap. And, its exploitation of technology is laughable, but the station is listenable at this point.
Marketing and imaging need to be improved. I'd can O&A too.
