CABLE NETWORKS WE HARDLY WATCH ANYMORE

Which networks ain't what they used to be?

Here's my list

Spike comes to mind. I don't know what that network turned into.
TV Land (too current now)
Animal Planet (where did the meercats go)
USA (crime drama central)
BBC America (not too exciting anymore)
WE TV (booring)
WGN America (lousy shows)
NICK at Nite (lousy shows PT. 2)

Yea the whole MTV Networks package is garbage. The in the hell is music got to do with these channels anyway.Cheap tv.keeps them on the air [wire]

Also I guess that will some it up for all of those 100 plus cable/sat networks that fill their programming up with cheap non scripped reality crap
that runs hours on end every day.I rather sit and watch a Time and Life Music infomercial .
.
ESPN dub Expensive Sports Entertainment Network ,Outrage on their inflated per subsribers charge.probably the only time that I tune in is for the Sports Illustrated swim suit issue.

FOX sports net.

$60 dallors for 200 plus channels and I probably tune in 10 a week.minus $8 dollars for the ESPN,Fox sports channels and some of those crap channels would be great.

I love these arguments. There is so much media available, on demand, music via itunes etc, it's becoming more and more difficult to program anything that's not what people want right now!

I don't watch any of the news or business channels...Fox News, MSNBC, Headline News, CNN, CNBC, Fox Business....you get the picture. On a rare occasion I'll put CNN on but only during a major news event.

MTV, MTV2, VH1, VH1 Classic, TV Land, Nick At Nite, Showtime & HBO. The only reason I still have cable is because it is included where I live but I've found that I never watch it because I get much better quality programming from over the air stations for free from Antenna TV, RTV and THIS.

Comparing viewing habits of 2011 to those of 2004, I'd list AMC, the MTV/VH-1 family of channels, TWC, and USA as channels that we used to watch a lot and which we hardly watch now. Personally, I add TLC to that list - though my wife does watch some shows there. So that one is probably a push in our household.

Shopping channels that Tim listed? Never watched them before and never watch them now. A waste of bandwidth as far as I am concerned.

They are all propaganda

I'm amazed that so many of them are still around. Why watch a home shopping channel when you can just order what you want online from Amazon or another retailer?

The Weather Channel (needs no explanation around here)

Is still useful for local forecasts and weather alerts when you aren't near a computer. Besides Intellistar generated content the channel is pretty much useless.

OK, I have to agree with most of the posters, of course you have to add the OTA nets as well especially ABC, CBS, NBC

You're SO right about that. They have become so irrelevant that I actually forgot to list them. Of course, at one time, the big 3 were all I watched. Now I hardly ever do.

And you have the correct three written there too as I sometimes do watch FOX and PBS.

I will suggest that this is both generational and subjective because you can get the weather on your IPhone. I'm not picking, just pointing out that the strengths that were once limited to the mighty power of television are waning fast!

Animal Planet used to have lots of actual nature documentaries, and of course, Steve Irwin's stable of shows. Now there just seems to be "There's 8 Inches Of Dog Poop On My Floor".
