Not surprised at all at the "We Are Men" cancellation...the writing was pretty much on the wall after the first episode aired. The show didn't fit well on CBS to begin with, and probably would have been a better fit for Fox or a cable network where it probably would have lasted a little longer, but still probably would have failed.
I never thought "2 Broke Girls" belonged at 9/8C to begin with. To be honest, I stopped watching the show early last season when it became apparent that the show was pretty much one crude, and not all that funny, joke after another. I'm glad CBS has moved 2BG back to 8:30/7:30C, as I thought that would be part of the solution to the network's current Monday night woes, but was kind of surprised they actually did it. I figured CBS would want to be as consistent as possible and would just put comedy repeats or "Mike & Molly" in the 8:30 slot, leaving 2BG at 9:00.
I'm kind of surprised CBS is waiting till November to bring back "Mike & Molly." It's my understanding that M&M has a full 22-episode order, despite officially being a mid-season replacement show. That goes to show that CBS was pretty much expecting at least one of its new sitcoms to bomb immediately, which occurred with "We Are Men." I think "Mike & Molly"'s shooting schedule was delayed a little to accommodate Melissa McCarthy's film shooting schedule, but I figured they would have a couple episodes ready by now. Perhaps CBS wants more time to promote the show.
The premise of "Mom" isn't bad, but the writing isn't all that good...definitely not up to par with the other Chuck Lorre sitcoms. I turned off last Monday's episode roughly halfway through the show. I've read where other people have said CBS will probably nurture "Mom" because of Lorre and his record for success, and I think that's probably true. However, I would imagine Lorre has already gotten the memo to punch-up the writing and make the show funnier. French Stewart's "Chef Rudy" character needs to have a slightly more prominent role in the show. The character is hilarious, but only has a few lines per episode. On the other hand, the Gabriel character could just disappear or be written out of the show and I doubt nobody would really notice.
