CBS cancels The Late Show

Whew, remember the good old days when we lived in a free, democratic country and people outside of the rightwing media sphere were allowed to share their opinions without the Head of State wanting all their shows canceled and the broadcasters' licenses revoked?

It's the reality TV view of the world, where there is no such thing as co-existing with others. The group votes, the outcast is kicked off the island, never to be heard from again. Then the group is able to remain unchallenged forever, and ultimately wins the big prize at the end of the show. Elect TV stars to public office, and you get TV shows for government. Since nobody studies history or the constitution, they aren't aware this isn't how it's supposed to be.

Which is why I continue to be thankful for my 9th grade civics teacher Russell Gates. Instead of following the textbook, he simply taught us about government at every level.

(And also got the Teacher of the Year award from the school district board six times for teaching that way.)
