I only chime in 3 or 4 times a year but I wanted to say something as an average joe.
It's time to stop complaining about smooth jazz being off the radio. I liked listening to the station from time to time at home or sometimes we had it on at work but the station is a background noise station. You can easily get those online or on XM becuase you are most likely listening to a place with a internet connection. On the other hand, Movin is more a station that people who listen to radio are going to listen to in a car. It might be cookie-cutter music but when I'm in my car I like cookie-cutter music and when I'm home I'll explore internet radio for stuff that is exciting and new.
As an advertiser with CBS Radio, we stopped advertising on the Oasis before they changed formats because it was a dreary station and we had almost zero business coming from the station. We do advertise with KRLD and as lousy as their ratings show to be, people are listening because we often hear they heard our ads on KRLD. You might not like that this is a for-profit industry but it is, and they are going to put out there what sells the most ads and smooth jazz doesnt fit the bill.
