CBS FM Sports Lineup Projections/Predictions

CleveRadioInsider said:
What is this weekend lineup DSN revisited? They can't possibly be serious. Ken Silverstein is horrible, Joe Lull is average at best and Kendall Lewis was never good to begin with. ::)

Still waiting for suggestions to who you would want to hear on weekends since the 3 shows you mentioned are so bad!!

Before you answer this make sure you do not include Glenn Moore in your answer as he would also fall under the ccategory of DSN revisited!!

Love how people are criticizing even before the station is even on the air the first day..

That was why I posed the question I did to CleveRadioInsider Tim...after all if he was REALLY a "CLEVERADIOINSIDER" wouldn't he have the INSIDE information on the CBS lineup instead of just being bitter about it?

Glenn Moore would actually be something different. He had his own show before DSN and he continues to do it. Glenn works hard as evidenced by his own website. Maybe he just wants to do his own thing outside of the BS that is corporate radio. I give Glenn credit in that he is making a name for himself on his own.

Gleen Moore may of had his own show before he latched on at DSN but let's face it how many people really knew about Glenn's show before he was hired by DSN? Like it or not he was still associated with DSN so to say that he is different is not accurate.

As I stated before I don't know the story of DSN and really don't care to know the story of the operations side there but I do have a degree of respect for the talent that was on the air there.

BY the way, you never did mention who should be on the air that isn't a DSN retread? Would like to hear your suggestions Glenn.

No doubt, Booms will have to be on his best behavior.

But this isn't DSN, a quasi-amateur operation. This is radio's big time, a high-profile station owned by a major corporation. I'm sure Andy has heard of Booms' rather interesting career reputation, and will basically read him the riot act if he falls off the wagon.

This is, for all intents and purposes, Booms' last chance. Period.

And it's pretty clear as such considering the composition of the show. Both Kiley and Tony Mazur have worked alongside Booms, for better or worse, and will have to team up along with Andy to keep him in line both on and off the air - along with his parents, who IIRC, still live in Cleveland Heights.

Booms is now on the air in his hometown, on a terrestrial FM signal, on morning drive. The show has a big-time budget, so much so that CBS tossed Maxwell overboard in the process - or Maxwell saw it and demanded to leave, take your pick. Booms can't and never will be able to headline a show solo (seriously, he can't), but this opportunity has basically been offered up to him on a silver platter.

No excuses.

Since I said something nice about Glenn I must be Glenn Moore right? Wrong. I was just giving him some props because he is doing a good job. I realize that giving credit to someone other than the usual hosts that have been on 5 stations is anathema to many here.

Well I asked you twice who you would suggest outside of Silverstein, Lull and Lewis that would be better on weekends and you didn't give any answers outside of Glenn Moore who is a DSN retread regardless if you think so or not.It sounds like I am safe to say that Glenn Moore is capable of doing 10 straight hours of sports talk since nobody else is qualified according to you!

Looking back at other posts of yours virtually every post is in some way or another positive about Glenn Moore. I can appreciate someone liking a talk show host for one various reason or another but based on that you are either Glenn or you are borderline obsessed with him which needless to say is not very healthy. Mo intention to offend in saying that nothing more than an observation.

Furthermore, since Glenn's website is so successful what is the need for him to get a job with another outlet? I would think that him accepting that would be counter-productive to what his own site.

A couple of tid bits:

Anthony "Sportsboy Tony" Lima will indeed be the Fan's update guy from noon-6 p.m. as per a tweet from Adam "The Bull".

And "The BSK" Kendall Lewis will be doing Saturdays from 4 - 8 p.m., and the Sunday Browns postgame show. With the Saturday slot, Kendall will essentially be doing a Buckeyes post game show as well for most of the season.

Kendall Lewis is better than Ken Silverstein btw. Hiring him is a real mistake. Cocky, arrogant and condescending are the kind words that describe Silverstein.

While I appreciate the kind words from some of you in this forum, I can assure you that this is Glenn Moore, and I DO NOT use another alias or username to boost my ego. I don't play games like that like some other "personalities" in the industry.

Whether my website is successful or not is not up to me, but up to the people who follow me and visit on a regular basis. While I'm not a bigwig here in Cleveland, I do not have an ego that needs to be stroked on a daily basis. I am happy with what I am doing with my website, and as long as others enjoy it, I will keep posting unique content.

Needless to say, my website does not stop me from pursuing other jobs. I feel my website is more of a working resume, in hopes of landing a gig that I can reach out to a larger audience.

Like me or hate me, I still appreciate the words and complaints. I know I'm not the best on-air, but I feel like I am improving each time I go behind a microphone. I never said I was the best or demand to have my own show in a major market. I need work. But I do know I work my ass off each time I am covering an event or putting on a show. The people who have followed me for the past 3 years know that.

I wish everyone luck with the new station, but the motivation I have is stronger. And if you like or don't like the lineup or even myself, YOU all have the right to listen or not listen.

Again, thanks for the support and I hope all of you continue to support TheDugoutSportsShow.com.

I am coming out of retirement because I see something that doesn't jive. I don't know why I am because it seems that Joe Lull no longer likes me, but this is the epitome of hypocrisy in my opinion

Here is what CleveRadioInsider posted on June 22nd, 2011 about Joe Lull:

CleveRadioInsider said:
You, Daryl, Joe Lull and Brian Fowler were a few of the bright spots on a doomed ship. Unfortunately good people can't always rectify a horrendous situation.

So CleveRadioInsider what changed your mind about about Joe Lull's talent since he was a "bright spot" 2 months ago?

So Sean, I guess you will be listening from Cbus tomorrow?

You are damn right I will be. Will be up bright and early for Kiley and Booms. Do I know it will be a hit-no way, but I am not going to destroy something until I hear it.

I am not bothered if people know who I am 74WIXY. Also let me make sure you know I have been a big promoter on 92.3 the Fan on Twitter. If you want my Twitter name it is @SeanInColumbus.

And By the Way; Nate has been on top of 92.3 with OhioMediaWatch the whole time. Kudos to great work, the media needs guys like you to uncover things.

If a certain son of an (ahem--alleged) silent partner of an AM sports station in town had your attitude, the show he appears on, and the station it airs on, would be a better place.

You're welcome, Sean. It's been very much a tag-team effort.
