CBS not broadcasting Thanksgiving Day Parade

even the underperforming Giants and Cowboys that they always shove down our throats will still get high numbers, they could put pre season games on Thanksgiving and they'd still get high numbers

Of course, it was still dark in Hawaii at the time, so that and the quick jumps between entries proved it wasn't live. In fact, I think it was taped in September.
The CBS parade coverage, at least years ago, would be from several cities along with the Macy’s coverage. There was some non-Thanksgiving celebration or event in Hawaii that was recorded well in advance and integrated into the overall broadcast. Anyone know what the Hawaii event was?

This says the Aloha Floral Parade.

I don't watch The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade I watch Lions Gameday Live then either FOX or CBS pregame before the Lions game at 12:30PM which they created the Thanksgiving Day Game this year it's the Bears. For many years battle an NFC North Foe 2020 played the Texans & 2022 played the Bills largely NFC North. For a long time it was always Lions VS Packers but the legend Packers Head Coach Vince Lombardi decided to stop playing on Thanksgiving.

CBS turned themselves into trolls. This is total robbery.
Yeah, that's a bit much. I'm sure most people who want to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade would watch NBC anyway. It was good back when CBS would go across the country to show other parades, but not worth watching if all it's showing is just the NYC parade.

In this morning's "Reliable Sources" newsletter, Brian Stelter says NBC renewed its contract for the Macy's parade at triple the previous rate. Macy's probably tried to hike the secondary coverage rate for CBS and that prompted CBS' decision.

NBC didn't do much with CBS's famous Columbus Circle vantage point, only used it like 5 times

CBS never had a contract with Macy’s. They were showing a parade on a public street.

Speaking of the NBC coverage. Did the production seem sloppy this year. Not talking about the rain but the show itself.
