CBS orders more Game Show pilots! This time, Pyramid.

I'd actually like to see CBS go with two half hour game shows this time. Pyramid would be a good choice for one, but I'd also like to see them bring back something like Press Your Luck or Card Sharks.

I liked all three. Too bad I have so much other stuff to do these days.

GSN did a new version of Press Your Luck a few years ago. A new version of Card Sharks aired in syndication some years back and bombed.

Bob Eubanks was host of "Card Sharks" when I watched and he would kid one of the pretty girls who turned over the cards because he seemed afraid she'd do something wrong.

As for "Press Your Luck" I hated the Whammy until I realized how much fun it was when a contestant would hit it.

I'd like to see CBS bring back the five-minute "CBS Newsbreak with Douglas Edwards."

Me too. Very professional.

If they're looking for a new game show, they might want to look at some of the better game shows from overseas with good track records, instead of rehashing old shows that might pale in comparison to their original versions.

I know, for example, that I would watch new American versions of "Pointless" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointless_(TV_series) and "Golden Balls" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Balls before I'd sit through another pale imitation of "Pyramid."

How about The Price Is Right?? Oh....wait....it's still on.

I vote for a really good and well hosted version of Match Game.

I love game shows....but seriously....

When there are now 8+ minutes of commercials per 30-minute show, how much time is left for actual "gameplay"?

I think that "Let's Make a Deal" had to go 1 hour, to make sense of the whole scheme....I couldn't imagine it as a 30-minute show today.

cd

Bring back Bob Barker and let him host anything.......Yes, I know his age.......so what.......Vin Sculley is still calling the Dodger games.............The Ladies LOVE Bob......................

Memo to CBS....get rid of Cleveland boy on TPIR...........................and please help Let's Make a Deal

When those ladeis are mostly in the Polident and Scooter Store demo, that's so what. He retired, and good for him for deciding to enjoy his golden years.

CBS doesn't need a memo on Price; if Price and Deal were tanking, adding yet another game to the mix wouldn't really seem to be the first choice.

I vote for a well-hosted Match Game '10 (wait, that doesn't sound right...). Maybe Match Game 2010! :D Right, because if Match Game had lasted, it would have had to switch to Match Game 2000 (or maybe they would have eventually dropped the year, like they did with the "New" in TPIR).

This begs the question-where is the next generation of hosts to come from, since they don't have radio as a training ground? Ryan Seacrest can do only so much until the cloning process is perfected. ;D

Has CBS considered coming up with a new game show idea? Like, I wonder if Knock Off from Temptation or Know or Go from Ellen would work as a 30 minute game show?

I think that seems to be the biggest problem with new game shows...the pool of host candidates is fairly pitiful. There's basically three pools to draw from...stand-up comedian, well known or semi-known actor/celebrity or young good-looking nobody.

Some of those work (Drew Carey, Wayne Brady - to an extent, Meredith Viera, Regis Philbin, John O'Hurley, Tom Bergeron)

Most don't (Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, George Gray, Donnie Osmond, Ty Treadway, Rossi Morreale among many others)

And I certainly wouldn't watch a game show hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

Anyone know how "Let's Make A Deal" has done in the ratings? It must be doing OK for them to consider another game show. I remember watching the first episode of it back in October and that was the last episode I watched. I guess I'm in the minority. But "Pyramid" coming back would be awesome.
