640 would make a great oldies station.

As much as I want an Oldies station in Atlanta.....No, it wouldn't.

Why not? It has a good daytime signal and most of the music was originally on am radio anyway. I'm talking 60's and 70's music. The 80's don't matter.

Very few listeners under 55 listen to AM. I'm 56 and unless it was a truly exceptional AM station or jock, I switched to FM in 1969. You won't get the 25-54s you need for ad agency buys playing music on AM.

And a good daytime signal isn't enough. Part of your morning drive and part of your afternoon drive are on your nighttime signal part of the year.
