CCRadioSW

I just purchased a CCRadioSW and am pleased with the performance. The sensitivity and selectivity are excellent. FM can be tuned in 10,000 Hz steps which makes it possible to slightly offtune the radio when listening to a first adjacent to increase the distance from the local. This may sound petty, but I am concerned that the digital readout display is not precisely calibrated to the signal. The readout display is 30,000 Hz off, i.e. ideal reception of a station on 103.9 is achieved when the readout displays 103.86. This "error" is linear across the band. When I contacted CCrane, they said it is adventagious to be able to tune in 10,000 Hz increments to get ideal reception and radios that tune in 100,000 or 200,000 Hz increments may not be able to achieve perfect tuning. Are stations typically tuned to the exact frequency, or could they be off by 30,000 Hz or so? I realize this is a minor problem, but nevertheless annoying. Is there any way a user can calibrate the readout to the ideal signal? Thanks.

The CCRadioSW appears to be a re-branded Tescun PL-350 & I have a Tecsun. If so, the radio's FM is off-tuned...Meaning that the frequency displayed is NOT what the radio is actually tuned to. I'm pretty sure the station you mentioned is actually transmitting on 103.90, as it should.

Tecsun is the Chinese company making these radios. Tecsun radios are also marketed under the Eton & Grundig names.

Seems that many of the Tecsun's have that FM problem. I also have 2 Tecsun PL-200's (Grundig's G100/Eton's E100) & a PL-550 (Grundig G10/Eton E10). I got a chance to use my friend's PL-230 (Grundig YB550) & it's got the same FM problem.

Both my PL-200s also have an SW problem. Stations come in best when the display reads 2KHz above the station's actual frequency. For example; 5950 is properly tuned when the display reads 5952.

Do you mean the CCRadio SW-P? I have the CCRadio-SW (not P) and it's bigger then the Tecsun PL-350. The CCRadio-SW is a rebranded Kaito KA2100/Redsun RP-2100.

On FM there is more bleed thru the lower adjacent side than the upper side on my radio and I think it might have to do with the ceramic filters.

I apologize ddsparxx, I am mistaken. The CCRadio SW-P is the Tecsun PL-350. I do not own the SW (no P) radio under any name. I did get a few minutes with a friend's, but not enough to delve into its idiosynchrocies.

Again, I apologize.

Could adjustments typically be made on the inside to bring the display in line with the actual frequency tuned to, i.e. variable resistors, potentiometers etc.? Thanks.
