Will 700 WLW have Willie's show on tonight? Or will they continue to not have him on at all?
Cunningham is on as we speak.

Best of. Let's see what happens when the national feed starts at 10p est.

No Willie tonight. Hmmm........ The fill-in host Jeb Adams is having trouble taking calls. Different call in number. Still Saying in For Bill Cunningham.

Matt Patrick won't be heard on "The Weekend" (MM's syndicated show until next month). He'll be on WLW only, as far as I know. Or, so I have read on these boards, Facebook, etc...

It sounds like WLW is cutting the cord on "The Weekend" with Mike being pushed out of the building.

They told us that they were more than happy to pitch us Mike's replacement....

They are sure getting some bad publicity about these moves. The Enquirer reporter is eating them up. He and Parks have long had a feud anyway so this gives him some ammo.

The WLW forum has been turned off since McConnell left. Sort of like the way the USSR used to silence state run media when they had a changing of Politboro Chairman. Makes CC look bad to fans.

Losing one top guy is one thing but it has to really hurt if they also lose Cunningham.

That's been tried on 96.5 with Cumulus. Bonneville could do it on 97.3 if it had a better signal.

I think that the high debt that most of these guys are carrying dictates that they can only do FM Talk if it really bills big numbers. North of $160,000 per month. What do you need to bill those kinds of dollars, a 3 share?

They don't call it a "Soviet-style purge" for nothing. Sad thing is, that's more commonplace than not.

Good to see Willie staying at WLW, though. Like him or not, he is the heart of the station now - especially after Gary Burbank's retirement and the loss of McConnell.

While I have no inside information, I believed Willie would stay unless CC was playing hardball beyond normal negotiation gambits. Gambits that wounded his pride and forced him to make a move his heart did not want him to make.

I have often seen that mistake made in other ventures.

Though not a fan of Willie I hope WLW keeps it local from 9am-3pm. We don't need another CC Cookie cutter with Crybaby Beck and Pig Limbaugh on anyway. I don't think Pig would agree to being on a station anyway that would pre-empt his rambling for Reds games. I applaud WLW for being a rarity in todays world of syndicated radio where every 50kw station seems to carry the same programming day and night. WLW is all local as far as I know. Even the overnight trucking show is based out of Cincinnati I believe. I loved listening to Gary Burbank but can't stand Tracy Jones. He is stuck on himself. Every time he did extra innings after the Reds games I turned the radio off.

I like their sports talk since they discuss the Reds which are all but forgotten in the Louisville area (as is IU sports as well). Down here everything is U-la-K and U-la-Smell year round no matter whether they are playing or not which I couldn't care less about. I also applaud WLW for keeping live local news around the clock every day with live weather people as well who issue weather bulletins. Not just the EAS tone followed by a computer that can't pronounce half of the town names (that's good for a laugh though).

Although I am relativley new to these boards. I am amazed sometimes by peoples remarks. I see by the posts on this page, and others, that WTAM personality Matt Patrick is doing a show on WLW June 26th. I assume this is true, and if it is, Cleveland/Akron's loss is Cincinnati's gain! Patrick pisses me off on a regular basis, but he is the most interesting and compelling talk show host we have in Cleveland(my home). I never listened to him much when he was in Akron, until his talk show began on 640. Then they took him off, and he wound up on WTAM in Cleveland. I wish he was on more, not because I agree with him..the guy is funny, and keeps me listening. Some of the talk radio on 1100 that passes for entertainment is awful! I have always loved talk radio, I can't stand the same Beck, Rush, Hannity crap everywhere. Good luck to WLW and Matt Patrick..I guess I will listen online!

I look forward to hearing Matt Patrick. Not familiar with him.

I grew up in Cleveland. Raised on Pete Franklin. Now he made people wet the bed!

It's sickening how common that is in business. Radio especially. When someone puts in decades of work to help build your station and decides to leave, I would expect the station to say something like "Thanks for all your hard work, and good luck in the future." Instead it's "You're dead to us." I guess humanity isn't cost-effective either.

Where did you hear him out of curiosity? Was he still on WLAP or WHAS? (I'm in Knoxville...no local or regional affiliate)
That was heard over the former Cuddly Giant, WHAS.
