What I Heard

Another poorly planned move is happening at Atlantic Broadcasting. In a sad attempt to save face they will blow up JSE Rocks and (drum roll) introduce another top 40 this weekend. 99.3 KISS is top the rating and they give spots away. Hmmm clubs are packed in AC who thinks they are going to pay for radio commercials. Wow you didnt think of this earlier? You put all your eggs in the basket that says nightclub money on it? Whos calling them shots? ZXL will now be the biggest rock station in the market while the Shark gets older and older. Another win (yeah) for Equity and Millennium while Atlantic kills a sellable format for a kiddie format for all their buddies to work for !!! Cant wait to hear Usher and Ne Yo every hour with fill in radio talent that couldnt make it any where else. Great to be a sales rep unless you work for Atlantic. Get your check books ready. In 5 months youll be able to write them a check for gas and tolls back to NY and theyll take it. Thats what happens when you havent hit a monthly sales goal since Feb !!!

Yea Party FM coming to AC, you could have been a part of it, but from looks of your hate post, I am sure you are way out of the demo! Enjoy listening, I am sure you will have nothing but negative things to say, but I am sure every wife and daughter in the market will love the station. PS. If it looks like I know what I am talking about, tune in Sunday at 12 noon.

Ouch what will they do when the ratings come out and they are stuck with a 2 share radio station and a format they cant sell??? What excuse will they use then ??? 7 months now without hiting a sales goal and they think this is the answer.

ZXL already is the biggest rock station and has been for some time. JSE never challenged them. With or without JSE around, The Shark will still be a respectable #2.

Since when is JSE sellable? It's the lowest rated full FM in the market, and it's not like Alternative stations bill particularly well. 18-34 males isn't a particularly lucrative demo.

JSE has been around forever, they've tweaked their Alternative format a million times, and they still always end up in last place. It's not a bad sounding station, but given the track record, why would Atlantic keep this station around?

Until Atlantic City gets PPM (i.e. never), I don't think an Alternative station can survive in the market.
 
JVC Broadcasting (John C) are launching a new top 40 this weekend, ouch have you heard his other one in Long Island? Its great being across the street and getting the dirt. A little someone told me to listen close to the playlist. Either JVC Broadcasting isnt watching the Billboard charts or them mp3s come with "Radio Perks". Cant wait to hear the playlist. If I send him a new ipod will he play country? Probably

Hit 106, a Mainstream CHR radio station in the Monmouth/Ocean market was able to get Atlantic City club commercials.  Now if they are able to get nightclub ads for 106.5 which covers 1/8 of the AC market, and 99.3 ain't doing nothing for the AC nightlife, then I think the new 102.7 would be set. 
 
If 102.7 becomes PartyFM, I will definitely take a spontaneous trip to Atlantic City this weekend (unless the tropo brings 102.7 up to my part of NJ)!
 
I hope the playlist is exactly the same as Party 105. Well, a little more dance would be nice.

Unlike eastern Long Island, AC has a Hot AC/CHR and a Rhythmic CHR/Urban in town. The "Party" format will work better in AC if there's more dance and less hip hop. However, much of south Jersey already has a dance station, Z88.9.

It should definitely do a remote from the Lady Gaga concert in Boardwalk Hall on the 4th of July to get its name out to the people who would be very receptive to CHR.

Probaly nothing. I can't understand for the life of me to blow up The Buzz for KissFM. The question is, what is going to happen with ZXL? Will they still shove classic rock down or are they going to take a page out of JSE's book?
