okay so

who wants to take predictions on the next format for 99.3 ?

Mike....I believe Kiss 99.3 will stay on top of the AC market.

Kiss is 5th in the ratings now. I don't think they've ever been on top.

99.3 The Buzz was on top at one point, but that was when hip-hop was more mainstream, when WAYV wouldn't touch anything with rhythm, and when Sojo didn't exist.

Kiss seems vulnerable here. They screwed up when they tweaked to CHR then right back to Rhythmic. If 102.7 does this right, I think they'll blow 99.3 right out of the water.

I can't understand for the life of me to blow up The Buzz for KissFM. The question is, what is going to happen with ZXL? Will they still shove classic rock down or are they going to take a page out of JSE's book?

Buzz-to-Kiss was a defensive move. Equity thought a new CHR was going to sign on and changed 99.3 to CHR in order to stop that from happening and protect WAYV. That's the problem with 99.3. Equity treats it as an afterthought- just a buffer to make sure WAYV stays near the top.

It hasn't worked all that well though. 99.3's existence didn't stop Sojo from tweaking to more of an Adult CHR, and 99.3's existence isn't going to stop 102.7 from doing CHR or Rhythmic CHR either.

As for ZXL, good question. They're already the #1 rock station so I think they'd keep the status quo. After all, where else are 102.7's listeners going to go (besides the Internet, satellite, MP3s)? ZXL doesn't have a lot to gain by skewing younger, because if they do add newer music, The Shark will take a bite out of ZXL's older end. (OK, bad pun there)

Nick, you really think we need more Dance music? I like dance music(all music really)but CHR in any form is the last thing this market needs.

Okay fine. If you don't want it in Atlantic City, kindly pass it over to the Monmouth/Ocean market ;D

With the increased signal, it's been said that WWAC will be audible all the way up to Point Pleasant.

I've lost count of how many Top 40 stations we will be able to get on the FM dial here in Southern Ocean Co. And still, not a single Alternative Rock station. It's absolutely ludicrous.

At least 102.7 will play dance music heard only on 7 other stations in the country. Dance is not Top 40 (yet). This is not like G or K Rock flipping to a mainstream Top 40.

I can name all the stations in the country that will even touch Edward Maya - Stereo Love. 102.7 is one of them.

Ocean City to Leeds Point is the useful (54 dbu) coverage area of the relocated Class A FM.
