Changes at WHOG Rock 95.7

As of last Friday The Go-Fish Radio Network( A Black Crow Syndi-AM Show) is off Daytona Beach also the station went back to the old Classic Rock Format,(even going back to late 60's but hitting 70's especially hot & heavy and cutting off around 85ish for the most part)is currently running Jockless, taking slams at HTQ saying HTQ means How TO Quit...and calling HOG Daytona's Origional Bad Ass Rocker...and asking ppl to log into WHOG957.com or call the listener hotline at 985-HOG-9572 call to leave a message & tell them what you want on the HOG.

Just as a person that hasn't heard the Hog but knows HTQ, what was the Hog doing before?
Is hog Tampa or daytona beach?

WHOG "95.7 The Hog" is Daytona and one of the Black Crow Broadcasting stations.

"95.7 The Beat" is Clearwater (Tampa) and is part of Clear Channel.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

How strong is Hog into West Volusia, Seminole and the Orlando area? Will they tweak their format now that HTQ is gone? Who has the stronger signal, 95.7 in Daytona or 95.7 in Clearwater?

Both are crappy signals. But "The Beat" is a slightly better signal. It is a panel antenna on Gandy Blvd. on the Pinellas side.

WBTP is another of those signal allowed to upgrade in the 90's but chose not to. Now, they may be unable to go east.

Non-factor in Orlando, and I believe 96.5 got better ratings in Daytona than the Hog did... so this imaging is most likely aimed at the Daytona market.

Now trhat I think on it, The Beat 95.7 is the one I've gotten from within The Villages.
Next time I'm in daytona , I should chec out the hog. Surprised I never noticed them before, WVYB I thought was the only station out that way, with much of Orlando being of moderit signal strength.

HOG should up their power and slam better into West Volusia and Seminole county. There's a hole there now that 96 rock went bye bye.

The Hog can be picked up usually with a car radio through most of the Orlando area. After entering Osceola County near Disney its a toss-up as to which station you get...

Looks to cover Volusia, Flagler, The City of Sanford and Extreme NE Lake County.

I'm only going by its 50dBu purple contour. A lot of people can't afford these newer cars with extremely sensitive radios. So on most of these cars older than 2003 people are using the stock radios in them or got a cheap Wal-Mart Aftermarket one because it had a CD-Player and a stock radio only had AM-FM Cassette. On these radios going out of the 50 dBu zone becomes problematic. I have one of those and I notice signal problems as soon as I'm out of the Rad (60dBu)zone.

It can make it to Orlando on a newer car with a State-Of-The-Art Audio System but not with what I lot of people are still using in their vehicles.

It's official...The Go Fish Radio Network (In House Syndication from WRTT,Hunstville) was dicontinued on HOG. Frank & Tracy move back to Wake Up,Gary Meade The Mad Swede stays in Middays and Stephanie (from Sister Stations WRTT,WKRO & WVYB) takes over PM Drive.

The Go-Fish morning show is one of the worst syndicated shows I have ever heard. Can't believe they made it out of Huntsville. Good riddance. Can't believe Frank Scott allowed that show to bump him and Tracy. I know he has some clout at Black Crow. Just by getting rid of that show WHOG must be a lot better.

SHOCK RADIO Does not work in Florida PERIOD.The First Morning HOG Aired Go Fish they were doing their take on the Old STERN Bit from his WNBC days (also from the Movie) where the woman is swallowing the sausage & making a gargling sound while trying to talk...I'm thinking "HOW ORIGIONAL!".

Yeah, that's why the Greaseman had such a long run years ago at the Big Ape in Jax, Bubba has been all over the state for upwards of 15 years, the Monsters have been on 104.1 almost 10, and Stern was on in South Florida, Orlando and Ft. Myers.

If anything, Florida is maybe the place where it works best.

All the weird stuff happens in this state. What better breeding ground for "shock" jocks. Funny, even Lex & Terry do a bit that relates to "happened only in Florida." Please don't ask for examples, too many to list.......yep, only in Florida.

WHOG is already operating with maximum power and class. With that said, WHOG cannot increase its power under existing FCC minimum distance and short-spacing rules.

The Vice President of Programming has been running the show for quite some time now. I can almost guarantee you it was out of Frank's hands. I doubt he would have made that move. Operations Manager, Program Director, excreta are only meaningless job titles up there now.
