Changes at WHOG Rock 95.7

All the weird stuff happens in this state. What better breeding ground for "shock" jocks. Funny, even Lex & Terry do a bit that relates to "happened only in Florida." Please don't ask for examples, too many to list.......yep, only in Florida.

There's even a dedicated category on Fark.com for "Florida" stories. Now, the whole world knows! :D

What I Don't get is why they have Stephanie still on 10-2 on 93.1 (Country) when trying to establish her as a Rock Jock 3-7 on 95.7

Very common practice in smaller markets/smaller companies, and even some of the bigs. Have jock pull middays on one station, then move across the (sometimes virtual) hall & be afternoons on another...or afternoons on one, evenings on another.

My guess is less that they're "establishing her as a rock jock" as much as they're just filling a shift with an available warm body that isn't costing them any extra.

I have always found it easier to pick up 95.7 The Beat out of the Orlando area, particularly on most of the Osceola Parkway and I-4 anywhere near I-Drive and the western part of Orlando.

Nonetheless, because of the demise of 96.5, the Hog should pick up some Orlando listeners.

Looks to cover Volusia, Flagler, The City of Sanford and Extreme NE Lake County.

I'm only going by its 50dBu purple contour. A lot of people can't afford these newer cars with extremely sensitive radios. So on most of these cars older than 2003 people are using the stock radios in them or got a cheap Wal-Mart Aftermarket one because it had a CD-Player and a stock radio only had AM-FM Cassette. On these radios going out of the 50 dBu zone becomes problematic. I have one of those and I notice signal problems as soon as I'm out of the Rad (60dBu)zone.

It can make it to Orlando on a newer car with a State-Of-The-Art Audio System but not with what I lot of people are still using in their vehicles.
