Changes Coming to Mornings at Hot 97

And Hot 97 was just coming off its best overall ratings in 20 years. Of course, we may never know how EBro did against The Breakfast Club since most of us don't have access to those numbers. It makes me wonder what's next. Do they move Nessa or do they bring in someone new for mornings? Only time will tell.

Are non-compete clauses still a thing on New York radio? I don't know if any of those departed hosts can just go to another NYC area station right away whether they resigned or were terminated.

Could the departure of the Block’s morning host and another personality be an indication that significant changes are in store for 94.7?

Ebro is asserting on social media that his morning show was canceled due to the progressive political views he expressed on his show.
I wonder if he would be a good fit for SiriusXM. They could give him a platform to do an unfiltered show, like Howard Stern.

If that's the case, Radio One should be disbanded, because they act like every listener of theirs feel the same way they do politically.

Besides his brief social media posts, Peter Rosenberg gave his version of the ending of the Hot 97 morning show
on his afternoon show on 880 ESPN New York ("Don, Hahn + Rosenberg").

Found out at 10am Friday 12/12/2025 after show ended (was scheduled to start vacation at that time).
Said that contract negotiations had been going on for some time + he had been working without a contract.
Thought that management eventually cancelling the show was a likely outcome, yet still surprising when it occurred.
Expects to be somewhere else in the New Year with Ebro + Laura Stylez.

(Pertinent part starts at the time-stamped video link below; runs until around 3:13:00):
