Changes Coming to Mornings at Hot 97

I think Audacy will give 94.7 The Block one more chance before considering a change, whether it's a format flip or a sale. Besides, what formats are left for them? At this point, they may have to consider a format in Spanish or something bilingual if they were looking to flip 94.7.
The demographics don't fit its coverage area

The Kid Mero will probably do very well in that slot. He's got the right personality for a morning drive show, and he's still got good name recognition and popularity from all the years of doing the Bodega Boys. I think he's going to be successful in this gig.

It looks like Hot 97 went outside of the box for their new morning show. They hired someone who did podcasting instead of previously working at a radio station. I hope the transition works out well for Mero.

That is not a good signal for Spanish language programming. The NJ transmitter site does not do as well as the ESB ones in penetration of high density apartments and housing, and it does not do well to the east of Manhattan.

It's not exactly great for black audiences either, although the Block has the advantage that its songs are classics that time has tested well, so they reach into other demographics better.

And Hot 97 was just coming off its best overall ratings in 20 years. Of course, we may never know how EBro did against The Breakfast Club since most of us don't have access to those numbers. It makes me wonder what's next. Do they move Nessa or do they bring in someone new for mornings? Only time will tell.
I believe both morning shows ratings were seesawing in the ratings...<Please correct me on this.
