Changes for "DOT-FM" 96.7 WXZO....

Will--Perhaps you need a new radio. While 96.7 isn't the biggest signal in the market it's surely not complete static anywhere...especially in downtown Burlington which gets an especially good signal due to their tower location across the lake in Willsboro. I agree Lana not a good fit for that station as she is out of the demo and though she may not want to come back...perhaps they had compelling reasons for letting her go in the first place. A pity you're not in radio anymore Will...with your knowledge of the industry and keen observations any radio station could use your insightful perspective.
 
Interesting comment, SoxSlugger. Of course Lana is no longer in the CHR demo. Perhaps you could shed some light on those "compelling reasons" Vox would let a popular, proven, heritage AC personality go?
 
I have no idea but people with that kind of tenure aren't usually let go lightly. It leads me to believe there were issues which never came out.

Oh yes, I'm chomping at the bit to be in radio. Let me leave my job where I work two hours a day and make 37 grand to get treated like crap for 25 grand. If I do radio again, it will be on my terms.

Is slater from WCCC FM ??? I might tune into the stream sometime to try and find out...

MP103's is grainy and fuzzy.

It's a stream. Planet's is pretty good. Better than MPs.
Nitpicky, or are you just railing with a negative opinion against 96.7 every chance you seem to get? <- Rhetorical
 
I'm an equal opportunity offender. Everybody in Burlington radio is fair game for criticism from me when they do something inferior, even the one that used to employ me.

No stream will ever be "broadcast quality", but 128K audio is acceptable for a non-FM radio device. Listen to any New York station. Hell, listen to Fun 107's stream. There are probably dozens more that I could cite. If you think Planet's streaming audio is "pretty good," then you clearly haven't listened to many of them.
 
1) Why are you telling us before a :00 intro that you're in a "60 minute commercial free hour?" I know it's commercial-free...I'm hearing music, not commercials. Dead segue or jingle there.

2) Don't use songs that got played on CHR as music beds. When I start hearing you talk over "Dirt Off Your Shoulder", I actually thought you might be playing the song. That's a letdown to fans of Jay-Z who didn't care about your story about Spencer and Heidi.
 
LOVE LOVE LOVE the attack promo I just heard where they said "the other station says a cow is worth one hundred dollars." Of course, they had to ruin the good vibes by running the promo AT THE END OF THE STOPSET!

Has the X responded to this on-air?

And the midday jock is "better than bad, she's good?" What on Earth does that even mean?

I have a desk job during the day. I get out plenty, but I appreciate the concern.

And the vibes of the promo, were stopped by going back into a song? Really? That's ridiculous.
 
Not totally ridiculous. Only slightly. People's attention is very short-- you stop the music too long and they're gone.

Depends on how long the "promo" was. Was it really a "promo" or just a sweeper?
 
He said it was at the end of a stop set. So, it went back into the music, after commercials. Or, GASP, he was MISTAKEN, to which I need to promptly point out his minor error.

And who said anything about stopping the music? Sounds like he's carping on doing a mic break into a :00 intro, which is inevitable.

He also said he knew it was a "commercial free hour" because he was listening. So, since you just heard the song, should they not tell you what it is, or who it was? Since you obviously know what radio station you're listening to (cause your so smart), they shold stop telling you?

All silly comments. Each and everyone of them.

I like branding it. I don't like stopping the music to tell me that you don't stop the music.

It's not supposed to run into a song. You run it at the beginning of the stopset, not the end.
