Channel 10 News Set

Where was wonderful 3 when it was raining in Tempe today? Why did they not pre-empt all the programming so the reporters could show water on the sidewalks and in the gutters. Oh wait they would have to pre-empt valuable programming like OMG, and reruns of CSI Miami. Once again 3 is the place with more fluff!

You'll be happy to know they spend an inordinate amount of time Sunday morning covering "Is It Raining Where You Are?"

Of course 3 was worried that their favorite hand bag boutique would be flooded out. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Seriously, there were hand bag shops in the Deer Valley area that were partially flooded. :D OK, it really was the dollar store, but hand bag sounds fluffier. :D

Honestly, I have no idea why Channel 3 stayed with the coverage on Friday night -- except that Jared Dillingham almost got blown away at I-17 and Deer Valley.

My comments are a little late, but channels 5 and 12 have the weather on .2 and updates can be found there. I have seen channel 15 break into and replace Living Well on 15.2 when there is bad weather.

Channels 10.1 and 10.2 are the same so no weather updates can be had there.

I believe my wife and I were watching 12.2 on one of those stormy nights and they dropped the network feed and just put the radar picture up. Unfortunately, that picture is updated only every 15 minutes, so it takes awhile to see if the storm has progressed in one track or veered off to another.

Just my thoughts. :)

You can always shut down the TV and fire up the PC. Go to weatherunderground.com then enter any metro area city name. Scroll down until you see the radar screen and hit 'animate' and it will show you the direction of any significant radar image.

As I said before, the weather subchannel at 5.2 is a waste, especially on Late Sunday afternoons, where they choose to air their FCC-mandated educational programs. I'm hoping the polite-yet-misguided programmers at KPHO ditch it for Antenna TV.

On the other hand, I still miss the traffic info on 15.2. Live Well is a waste of bandwidth compared to that.

But where else can you hear "The Enforcer" news theme over and over and over again? :D

Record a segment on DVD, and you'll have it forever! ;D I would be surprised to see "Weather Now" still around in one year.

By the way, I'd like to know who owns the copyrights, masters, etc. of that "Gina D's Kids Club" show they air for "E/I" programming. I'd like to place a bid on them, then if I win, I could erase the master tapes.

It must be really cheap! ;D

Gina D's Kids Club is property of TBN, IIRC. Yup - that TBN.

The show is currently licensed out to Telco Productions for distribution, but KPHO 5.2 has been airing it since before Telco retained the distribution rights. One thing's for sure: 5.2 has been running blocks of it on Sunday afternoons since 2007, and it needs to be put out to pasture. What will it take to convince Seth (the program director at KPHO) that Antenna TV should replace the whole weather loop idea that was a good idea six years ago but not today?
