Channel 20 WQDI-LD TV

Believe it or not, WQDI-LD is STILL broadcasting satellite breakups on all of their channels after several weeks. Why don't they just shut it off if they don't give a rat's ass.

I'm not even sure why sister station WUEK-LD even bothers carrying NBC LX. 70% of the time that channel has no audio. Apparently it's a common issue with other HC2 stations that carry that network. Hope NBC isn't paying them the typical price for carriage.

HC2 is a Mickey Mouse operation. They don't care about quality or professionalism. They don't care if one or more of their stations are off the air for several weeks and possibly angering viewers over the one desirable subchannel that's worth watching. They don't care if the satellite feed constantly breaks up for several weeks, months, or years. All they care about is primarily carrying infomercial & shopping networks on their under powered stations to rake in some revenue. If FCC rules were much striker for low power television stations, I bet that HC2 wouldn't even be in the broadcasting business as they wouldn't be able to get away with their current operations.

I get that. But I wonder if these services which they are carrying understand that they are paying for dead air, no audio and satellite breakup (WQDI) lasting weeks?

Well, guess what? WQDI Channel 20 is STILL broadcasting what looks like satellite breakup on all of their channels after almost TWO MONTHS.. Nobody home. Ownership evidently doesn't give a damn. Sad.

Contact HC2 or file a FCC complaint? Not sure how much the FCC would care about a low power station.

WQDI has not been coming in strong for me as of late. Most of the time I don't even get a signal, so I can't see the problem for myself. All their other stations have been coming in fine.

EDIT: I'm getting a good signal on WQDI at the moment, and I'm analyzing the breakups. What I'm seeing suggests that it's an encoder issue. If you have a Samsung TV and you change the channel at the right moment, you should briefly see a "mode not supported" message, which indicates that the TV doesn't recognize the encoding during the corruption, even though the signal is above the decoding threshold. I recall back in January that all of WQDI's subs were displaying that message, so something apparently is messed up with their encoders and someone probably attempted some sort of quick fix for the time being. For how badly compressed all 7 of their subchannels look, they are likely using MPEG2 encoders from the early days of DTV broadcasting on all their stations.

What's wrong with BeINSports? It's better than boring infomercials and religious programming. I am still mad they took the Stadium Channel and TuffTV off Cleveland LPDTV. BeINSports had good MMA matches, and TuffTV had wrestling, as did Stadium. They are wasting a good channel. There is nothing wrong with BeINSports. I love watching Tuf N Uff, Karate Combat, etc. And they are free OTA?

WQDI-LD needs to stop playing games and fix their signal or sign off for good. Make me feel like they are destroying their own reception on purpose just to piss people off and don't seem to care just because it's on LDTV. They count just as much as full-power stations do. Everybody don't want to see all religious programming and infomercials like that. Just when I find something I like, it gets taken off because of a money urine contest. Please, stop trying to kill TV and radio.

Tuff TV was shut down by it's operator, which I believed happened while WEKA-LD was carrying the network.

BeIN Sports Xtra is still carried on WQDI-LD, though at one point it was carried on all their Cleveland stations along with BeIN Sports Xtra Espanol for whatever reason. I don't know why they don't put the more popular networks on WUEK-LD, which is the strongest of the 4.

If you have a Roku, both Stadium and BeIN can be streamed for free through the Roku Live TV app, both in much higher quality than what HC2 could ever deliver.

How about Retro TV? Seems like that would be suitable for them.
It doesn't appear that HC2 has a carriage agreement with Luken Communications (now Get To It Media), so they can't carry Retro TV or their other networks. Tuff TV started out as a Luken operated network, but was later sold off to Seals Entertainment Company, which is probably when their contract with DTV America began.

I have all those stations hidden. There is nothing I care to watch on any of them.
They have wrestling and MMA on Fridays on Ch. 20.3 English language of BeINSports Xtra. The Spanish language version is on KONV Ch. 28.3. Don't put down WQDI-LD or BeIN Sports network. 20.3 is best bet on Fridays. It ain't all just soccer. I hate they took off Stadium. They had wrestling. I am missing all that. Shooting themselves in the foot. Being a LD channel is no excuse to not fix reception. If they don't care they might as well take it off the air for good. Waisting a decent channel for nothing.
