CHANNEL 945: BIG CHANGES SOON

crap that stations are using is just that, a bunch of crap. No one will EVER remember a station because of those cheap radio slogans. I have yet to hear someone recall a cheap station moniker

hey quitnow, your repeated use of those "C" words tells us all we need to know about your level of knowledge and lack of class.

No lack of class. Tell me one cheap station positioner that is truly remembered? Shall we run the track of them..."We play more music", "More music every hour", "50 minutes of music every hour", Enough music to get you from ____ to ___", "The longest music sweep in Cincy"...whatever it it, it's stupid! Everyone uses one of those and they all sound the same. There's nothing that makes one stand out from the other, which is why they don't work. Good, compelling, fun radio gets good ratings. Sure there are exceptions to the rule (heritage), but as the PPM is beginning to point out, good radio DOES win.

I'm sorry you took offense to what I said, but that just points out that you buy into the radio formula and go with whatever your PD/OM/Format Director says. If you're a PD, you should be ashamed of yourself for not only NOT standing up for your own ideas, but buying into those that are being proven wrong in market after market. Read a bit more and follow a bit less. You have your own mind. Use it!

Yeah, it sucks when you are trying NOT to get fired, so you can support your family...

It's going with the flock that got us here in the first place. Have some balls! Try to improve your station, not keep your job. If you want to just keep your job try sitting at a desk and answering phones behind a desk, not a mic. That's easy. To do compelling, fun, attention getting radio involves some risk and a lot of work. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail. Good PDs know good radio and will hire you if things go south for you. There's more to life than keeping a job. Happiness and knowing what you are doing is right is more important than any OM/PD or other can bring to you. Plus, if you do what you know is right, and you do it well, the numbers will come and no one will say a thing.

Channel sounds a lot better... look for a big jump in the ratings.
Sorry to burst your bubble, lovejamminoldies...With that crap signal of theirs, they'll be lucky to even get into the mid 3s.

Lovejamminoldies- I have to ask what is wrong with your friends up north. I had the chance to stream that station and it sounds all over the road terrible (im meaning WlWd)

Channel should take WiLD's old route. Channel is still slippin on some music but DEF improving. And WiLD went mainstream to improve the books... not gonna work.

the old wlwd is so much better when they played hip hop. now they play metro station, kelly clarkson and i even heard daughtry, yikes!

agreed. its worse than that. they are actually are mainstream now. channel has a pretty good balance. good on golds and recurrents. their new music is pretty hot too. they're working on it

Just to inject my .02 here if I could..

Back when "Wild" was pulling a 15 share (circa 2003?) they played the mainstream stuff as well as some dance... I distinctly remember them having "Love Bites" by QED in pretty heavy rotation..

I think they actually started to slip a little when they eliminated most of the mainstream/dance product.

Channel is starting to take the Z100 feel. Add more mainstream hits and recurrents. They got some pretty cool imaging and beatmixes now too. They need a midday girl, some mainstream mixshows, a countdown, and some more staff. They can keep up with the right product.
