Channel 945 DROPS ALL JOCKS BESIDES 2

I texted a few times and all of the songs got played.
Well, thats amazing! What songs were they?
Same girl, Glamours.. Girlfriend? I'm sure if it is already lined up in the rotation it will play. But yet again, I only request NEW songs.. always have, always will. Only a few of them got played. Like Lose Control (missy E.. back in May 05). Magic City (which was on the New stuff at 4 not too long ago).. And thats really about all I can remember. I agree with your business stuff tho.

Drake does have a lot of things to do. I think he needs a nap. He always sounds tired! He done a good job so far.

don't text 94.5 thinking that as soon as I request it, they will play it. I challenge anyone to find a station that does that!!! God knows Z-93 never plays anyones requests.
Really? Most stations play songs within 20-90 minutes of your request!

And since you said Z93 never plays new songs (look at their YES online. They play quite a bit of new music ;)).. I requested Beautiful Liar on Z before it was even big on other stations. They played it within 30 minutes.. So I think that just proves my point there. Same with other songs.

I love 945.. I wont stop listening to it unless the format changes to something way different..

The HD is better so far.. E is on it now.. But they REALLY need to fix the high pitch songs! E sounds normal. so does Dr. Dave. some songs are ok in pitch.. others.. Lets not speak of.

Yeah.. I mean.. They could do better with the rhythmic songs like Wild 939. Wild 939 isn't much rhythmic anymore though. Drake also does a lot. I'm sure he has big things planned.. we hope. Getting a little sick of Glamorous ;)

Dude, Z never plays your requests! They are Radio One who sticks to certain standards. They can't even use the bathroom without permission! Unless it's a Jack FM, the station will always stick to structure and format. Sucks, I know.

And neither does drake! I have called in countless reqests when he says " Yeah bro, Ill get that on for you right away"... 3 hours go buy and nothing. (yes. I listen to 94.5 when Im doing work on the computer).

Afaik, Z has played all of my requests (except for pop, lock and drop it, which i understand doesn't fall in their format)

I am a big fan of 945.. Always have been..Always will be.. But there are several grudges I hold against them.. and one is not playing requests..(this goes back to when 945 started as well. So they werent busy then :))

I requested Party Like A Rockstar yesterday and it wasn't played, neither was Sexy Lady and that is one that they've been playing quite often. However, I did catch them playing the Pop Lock And Drop It (Remix) yesterday. They're getting better.

What ever did you request on Z? Techno Nickelback remix???!!!

MM. not worth my time!

945 is sounding a lot better though.

I hurd a special version of Easy by paula deanda and Bowow last.. It was actually better than the Lil wayne version.. They should play it more!

They are adding more music which is good.. But they should play that new music just as much as any other song.. Because everytime i drive aroung, go get something, and get back in the car.. My timing is so perfect that the same songs are on again! (its not their fault, its the same thing with most stations :))

E is really stepping up to plate with the HD 2 station. I had him give a few shouts the other day.. It was nice!

Gr8Oldies is right.

Jack FM's talk about playing a lot of songs. Certainly, they came on the air that way. But, their ratings didn't stabilize until most of them cut their playlists signficantly.

They probably still have a bigger list than, certainly, a 94-5, but even they have had to cut and focus their playlists, too.

Personally I don't know of too many stations that play requests. It's all logged.

Second, what if Channel is testing on HD2 and they're going to put that on their HD1?

Actually the more I listen to it, see if this makes sense:

Clear Channel decides it's a lost cause to go directly after Z, but if another rythmic/ urban CHRish station comes into town (done right) they can cut Hot's numbers pretty good. From what I hear on the HD2 they are slamming Hot...what if they are gearing up to move the HD2 over to HD1??

You do realize they can't just play anything on the radio station. They have to check the song for content BEFORE it can go on air. So if you are only requesting NEW music, they haven't played it, because it hasn't gone through that filter. Now when Z played whatever song that was, odds are that it had already been pre-approved for air play.

They are a couple of other things that go into a song getting played, such as whether or not it has been released as a single or not etc.

You can request new songs all you want, but until those songs go through the appropriate.... um..... channels.... it's not going to happen. Radio doesn't work like that, and as someone else mentioned most songs are already logged, and a lot of the songs that are currently played on air, are played because they are continually requested. When I was in the studio with Drake and Wes, they had a list of songs, and would write how many times each song was requested to be played, as well as a list of songs that came in that weren't on that list. The songs with the highest votes were prioritized as must spins in the rotation factor, hence why they call channel the people's choice station. They dictated their playlist based upon what the audience said they wanted. They added other songs to that rotation as well, but if people didn't continually call and say I want that played again, or that song blows, it was dropped from rotation.

Programming isn't just a matter of playing every song requested. It's a LOT more complex then that.

945 going toward a HOT 102.9 type of station makes perfect sense. I need to tune in to their HD2 because I haven't listened awhile. 945 should go toward more of a WILD 93.9 sound (Lima). Well, what they used to be. WILD has gotten more mainstream since Star 92.1 has came in. But yeah, if they are going to keep it CHR to go against Z, it's not going to work.

Wild or WLTO in Lexington. What is Wild thinking by the way?

I'm going to be blunt here, a friend of mine that used to work at CC and I had a discussion and came to this conclusion.

CC has poured a lot of money and time in waiting for 94.5 to turn around and become a competitive station, with their lack of wattage, demographic, Dayton's population composition, and competitors with far better resources, and lack of new and fresh ideas, the company is tired of putting effort, talent, and money in the station. It is a veritable red headed step child, and like ONE they are going to abuse the few resources they have, and not even attempt to make it better. The station is what it is, it isn't going to improve, so why put the money in it. Let it be a blocker for MIX with Z where it can, but don't spend money on something that isn't an asset.

The issue with channel is that it can't compete with Urban 102.9. They don't have the staff that can do it, not even with 92.1. They're going to hope that Dave and Jimmy can save a sinking ship, but by eliminated or really limiting Drake's show, they are not balancing out the equation. Ehh. It's blah. The station will stay blah, because the company is tired of trying to develop a solid product. Not that they ever really tried........ but that's another story.

My gut instinct is that CC is going to follow Radio One's steps and sell off some stations. They still don't have a GM and Chuck Fredrick left in March. The normal turn around time is like 2 weeks. Neither LITE nor Channel have PD's........ the rumor is that isn't going to change anytime soon.

Who says WILD isn't as it used to be? Actually, peeps were saying it was too urban!
You must be listening to the stream.
But thanks for listening!
