Charlotte Ratings May 2026

WFAE sets a station record as it stays #1. WDAV sees nice increase. WRFX, WPEG, WHQC and WFNZ all show big declines.

WBT 107.9 is #13 in the unsellable 6+. I thought they would make the top 5 or at least the top 10. Hope they are doing well in a money demo because they are getting beat 7.6 to 4.4 by a NPR station.

25-54: 1. WEND 2. WFAE 3. WLKO 4. WPEG 5T. WRFX, WKKT & WOSF
18-34: 1. WNKS 2. WEND 3: WLKO 4. WKQC 5T. WRFX & WFAE 7. WPEG 12. WOSF
18-49: 1. WEND 2. WNKS 3. WFAE 4. WLKO 5. WKQC 6. WRFX 7. WPEG
Now this is why I suggested WOSF might be able to take over the Mix format. However, WBAV is doing worse. I remember them being on top consistently.

I don't see how a classic hits station isn't doing better with older listeners.

KQC is doing better with older listeners; older than 25-54.

Urban AC is down nationwide. It’s temporary. Both stations will bounce back. BAV has been sounding better so they’ll probably be up in the June book. I don’t listen to OSF so don’t know about them.

OSF has been Radio One Charlotte’s most successful station ratings wise. They’re not flipping it.

AM is dead, FM is dying, at the hands of giant corporate radio. AM is 100 year old technology, FM is 80 year old technology....Will FM be around 5 or 10 years from now?

WBT’s fall is glorious.
Even the morning zoo is now unlistenable.
I hear ya. Bo seems like a nice guy, I'm not sure about the rest.

What crossed my mind is the tremendous pressure they must all be under right now. For those here who haven't been in radio, imagine an aircheck session with the program director where every word you say is critically dissected, and examined. Not fun at all when your livelihood is on the line.

People I know were gloating about funding being pulled from public radio, they thought it would go away or at least shrivel up.
I won't do that concerning 107.9 WBT and many other conservative talkers but it's interesting how for now at least, the tables have turned.
