Hey, it's Mr.Bill from WRFX ( I can't use Mr.Bill because somebody else is using it).....
I thank Herbiedradio for the consideration for "Charlotte's most memorable", but to include me on that list is crazy. Henry? Hancock? I'm not even close to being in their league. And all the other names on the other posts. Murphy, Larry Sprinkle (nice hair Larry!), my co-workers John Boy and Billy, Jack Gale, Rockin' Ray (the kindest, coolest cat I ever met. He befriended me when I first moved here 12 years ago.), I could go on. These guys have spent countless hours on the radio, sharing their lives, discussing the issues, putting on fabulous charitable events, being a huge part of the community. I play lot's of great music and add the occasional smart ass comment. And get paid to go to bars to drink beer and introduce bands. A great life, but not "memorable". Big difference.
Just look at what folks like Brotha' Fred, Ace & TJ, No Limit Larry (and the super funny Tone X) are doing now. The benefits, the fund raisers, the auctions, these guys are all tireless and I'm a big fan of each. They are the next generation of "talent" that will be the next "Charlotte's most memorable" for what they do. Their names go way above mine on that list.
But again, thanks for the thought! I owe you a cold one....
Mr.Bill
p.s. I check this board every now and then, and I like how you guys think. Keep up the great work!
