CHR in Orlando

With WXXL doing quite well with a 6.2 share, would love to know what numbers WONQ (Party FM Orlando) is pulling in as a bi-lingual CHR. Unfortunately they must not subscribe to the ratings. The market is over 36% Latino and Party FM has plenty of English language music, announcers and commercials so they must be sharing a lot of listeners.

It's nice to see XL continuing to do well when you see other CHR stations in similar sized markets with 2 and 3 shares out of the Top 10. I too would be curious as to how Party is doing (and if they're taking much of XL's potential audience)

Party's signal is very spotty in my area (Apopka-Clarcona-Hiawassee). Their signal is also spotty in Kissimmee (not sure why they advertise that), but at least they are getting Sanford. Since XL's numbers are going up, I doubt they are taking much of their measured audience. They might be taking Mix's numbers instead, because I notice that they play a lot more music from the 2010s than currents. They would also be taking some of Rumba, Hits, or even El Zol's numbers if they were doing well, but it doesn't look that way in the public ratings. Kaliente has the better signal, but look at their numbers. If you put Party on 103.1's stronger signal, then you might have something competitive there.

I, too, am curious about Party's ratings, since I also play some of what they play, both current & classics, on my own radio show. The new engineer (of Z Family) at WPRK completely took away the encoder from the studio.

I'm disappointed that Party doesn't have any mix shows.

WFLZ could definitely have some listeners. In the past WFLZ used to reach more of Orlando, but with translators, it is mostly restricted to Osceola County. Orlando certainly has an unusually high percentage of people listening to CHR compared to other markets.

As for stations from out of the market, I would think that country music listeners would be more likely to listen to out-of-market WPVC than CHR listeners listening to WFLZ because their signal is quite strong over most of O-town.
