Chris Fedor out at WKNR

no word on what he did. I thought for sure he was one of the golden children along with Hammer. Hooligans immediately improve by addition by subtraction.

It's all over twitter-most in support of the move-I always wondered why the need for a 3 host team-Fedor was just bad radio, and mostly had a tone of talking down to people-he was better on Hooligans, but I could never forget how bad it was on RBS with he and Hammer together. It just made me stop listening.

Do you think it was something he did? It just seemed like out of nowhere-maybe Hooligans is not doing that well in the ratings.

Could have been a ratings thing and Karmazin could no longer justify keeping him around. Hammer is protected by Rizzo so as long as Rizzo's ratings are good Hammer is safe but it is no secret that Karmazin is starting to figure out that his WWE heel radio is not working. People legitimately do not like listening to Fedor and Hammer.

I've always thought the same thing-people have said for years they hate those 2-KNR thought negative heat brought more listeners for whatever reason.

In the unlikely event he winds up on the Fan, it won't be in nearly as big of a role as he had on KNR.

He talked like he was the biggest expert on everything (especially the NFL Draft)...Anybody could read Mel Kuiper Jr and ape his analysis too if given enough time.

The "smartest guy in the room" shtick wore thin long ago, and it wouldn't fly on 92.3, which is more geared towards nuts and bolts sports talk rather than conflict radio.

Bull and Fox must be doing well, if CBS was willing to give Adam The Bull a weekend spot on CBS Sports Radio, and Craig Karmazin dumped a longtime teacher's pet in Fedor.

I was never a fan of his. He seemed very fake and quite honestly he was not good radio. I can deal with a guy being negative as that has never been a problem for me, but I want entertainment, and he was not good radio. Peter Brown was good radio in Cleveland because he at least was entertaining.

I always wondered why knr presented him as some expert on players and the NFL draft. he wasn't and thout he was.

He won't be missed.

My guess....he asked for a raise and there was no chance he would get it based on what Hooley, Grossi and Rizzo are getting.

You are right former the "smartest guy in the room schtick" wears thin after awhile when it comes to radio hosts. There are a a couple of hosts in sports talk radio that like to act like they are the smartest guys in the room and they remind you of it on a regular basis. Pete Franklin never had to tell you how smart he was all the time you knew that Pete knew his stuff. Must be something with this younger generation that feel they need to talk down to us and tell us how "smart" they are. I will give credit to Ken Carman though he is part of the younger talk show hosts and he is really good and does not talk down to his listeners.

Anybody ever think that maybe he asked for his own show, CK (rightly) said no, and Fedor - in all his "my $#!+ don't stink/smartest guy in the room" glory - then just quit.

I don't know how much of it is real and how much is kayfabe, but Fedor does come off as the type of guy who truly thinks everything he says is gold, and that people would fall over themselves to hear it.

It would be totally believable if he didn't like being a 3rd wheel and wanted his own sandbox to play in, and once he didn't get it, threw a fit and walked out.

Before anyone says anything, I'm not saying this is the gospel, but merely that I wouldn't be surprised if something like this went down.

If he asked for his own show, he is truly living in another world-when he would host on his own on Saturdays, I would not even bother to tune in-he really was just bad radio, and had an arrogant tone-guess he should have listened to people who would tell him this-the fact that they dumped a "draft expert" right before draft talk starts heating up-Feb and March-I think speaks volumes.

From the tone of his tweet earlier today, it does sound like he was outright fired.

With a longtime football reporter/insider like Tony Grossi on board, and being an ESPN affiliate having access to Mel Kuiper at anytime, Fedor's whole deal of being a draft guru and the know-all/be-all really strained all credibility, and trying to portray him as such (especially with the first 2 guys I mentioned at their disposal) really left a bad taste in some people's mouths.

If he was fired, my best guess is that he did something to cross the line, because CK has bent over backwords putting him over for the last 5 years.

There are some people saying he might show up on 92.3. I don't see that happening. Anyone else see it?

As a producer/update guy...maybe.

As someone who will be a "face of the station" or have any major role...no way.

Fedor's whole persona was that he was "the smartest guy in the room" who always hitched his wagon to whatever the flavor of the month was in sports. He talked like he and only he knew anything about sports.

He was at his worst when on RBS, where kindred spirit Hammer would just egg him on, to the point where even Craig Karmazin (when announcing Fedor was going to the Hooligans) said it was like "2 Jack Russell terriers nipping at Rizzo's ankles".

That act won't wash at the Fan...I can't see Kiley/Booms, Baskin/Phelps, Bull/Fox or even Carman putting up with his "Indian who thinks he's a Chief" act.

Hell...most times it sounded like Hooley/Brinda could barely tolerate it.

Fedor and Hammer on RBS was when things were at the worst-it took me a long time to start listening to RBS again, even after Fedor went to Hooligans-I still more listen to 92.3 now.

Chris was not my taste, but I think he was trained in his shtick, and that will only take you so far until you have to change.

What really bothered me was the viciousness over twitter. The guy lost a job. Sure, he's media, but he's not a huge figure. He's a young guy who was making probably next to nothing and now has to come to grips, for possibly the first time in his adult life, that he lacks an income.

People are entitled to their opinions, but some of that was just low.

He will get unemployment if he was fired. I am not celebrating the loss of his job. I am merely stating that the Hooligans should improve by default now. Chris was a very polarizing figure who came across very arrogant. That might be why people were so harsh to him is my guess. Nobody should celebrate someone losing their job.

Wait, but doesnt Karmizin tell us every year that the "surveys" tell him that the listeners want more Fedor and more Hammer? I thought their findings are that these two guys test thru the roof and people love them. I mean, thats what they tell us every year when they tally up the results of their sham "survey".

;)
