I guess I should have said something sooner. This is former News-Talk 750 WSB KROKTALK Executive Producer, Ricky D also known as Rick diLorenzo. First off, let me say thank you to all the loyal listeners of KROKTALK with Chris Krok. Chris and I really enjoyed being your local issues forum for the past two years, but as they say, all good things must come to an end.
WSB is an amazing station with an amazing staff. I feel very honored having worked for Pete Spriggs and Condace Pressely and with Chris Camp, Kerry Browning and the rest of the WSB News Team. Scott Slade, Neal Boortz, Clark Howard, Herman Cainand their respective staffs were a joy to work with as well. I also want to thank all the WSB board operators who did a fantastic job with the show and of course our primary fill-in host, Mark Arum who is an amazing talent.
To give you an update, Chris is looking to take KROKTALK to another radio station in this great land that we call the U.S.A. As soon as i know where, I will make sure to let you all know.
As for me, I have lived in Atlanta since the fall of 1991 and in the Atlanta radio market since the spring of 1995 when I first worked as a board operator at the Georgia Radio Reading Service. In the spring of 1997, Nancy Zintak and Mike Rose decided to take a chance on me when they began something, dare I say, "PLANET RADIO, Life support for busy people, on WGST, 640 AM and 105.7 FM." They started me out as a weekend board op and by the winter of 2004, I was promoted to Assistant Progam Director of WGST and Executive Producer of Atlanta's First News with Tom Hughes. I was in the first group of WGST layoffs in December of 2005 along with News people, Kari Dean, Chris Bailey and Beverly Heiken, Imaging Director, Chris Pendl and the resignation of the Kimmer's News Maker Line Guy, Jim Gossett.
I was very fortunate to be in the right place at the right time in January of 2006 when WSB decided to develop a new night time talkshow, KROKTALK with Chris Krok. Once again, it was an honor to serve at a station with such a rich heritage. I will forever be greatful for having worked at such an outstanding place, with a terrific management team and staff.
At present, I have decided after a dozen years to hang up the microphone, but continue to where a headset as I pursue a new career in Inside Sales and Customer Service with McMaster-Carr Supply Company, the WSB of industrial supplies. While I will miss radio, I look forward to being able to spend the evenings, wekends and holidays with my beautiful wife and two young sons. Thank you Atlanta for a dozen years of great times and experiences in a semi-public position.
Warm regards,
Ricky D aka Eannie Meannie aka Rick diLorenzo
