Christmas Music. Who will be the first

If I made the rules....
Halloween decorations would go up in stores no earlier than October 1.
Thanksgiving decorations would not go up in stores until November 1.
Christmas decorations would not go up in stores until the day after Thanksgiving. Although I could be okay with some of that the week of Thanksgiving if stores didn't want to have to be full staffed on Thanksgiving to get ready. Oh, and no one would ever call the day after Thanksgiving ''black Friday'' ever again.

Radio stations would not play any Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving. Even then, I would hope they would not go wall-to-wall with it until a week before Christmas.

I'd vote for this.

Me, too. Hate it when you start hearing and seeing Christmas stuff before Halloween gets here. The Gaylord Texan in Grapevine all ready has some Christmas garland up on Hwy 26.

I used to cashier years ago for a drug store chain, and it was ridiculous how soon we got stuff for upcoming seasons/events. There was stuff in the back room in mid-December for Valentines and Easter waiting for us to get our Christmas stuff out of the way. Before we could get through with Valentines, summer stuff was waiting in the back. Back-to-school after Easter. Halloween stuff not long after we just got the summer stuff out. Makes ya dizzy huh?? ??? I was in one of their other stores about 3 weeks ago, and they already had their extra HIGH shelving already put up and stocked with goodies, candy, and cologne/perfume gift sets.

As for the topic, I'll try to guess whatever-KVIL-is-calling-itself-this-week ... they seem to be the perennial first (or not long after) most years.

More or less, this is exactly what we do at KEOM. Nothing until "Black Friday"...eerrhh, I mean, the day after Thanksgiving.
