Christmas Songs You Don't Like

12 Pains is one of my favorites. I like to pull that one out every July and remind myself of what I have to look forward to. Bob Rivers is a genius of musical parody. As for the others you mentioned (and most - but not all - Christmas music commonly heard on commercial radio these days), I offer the pitchfork-in-the-head analogy, borrowed from a post earlier in this thread. To paraphrase Green Day, Wake Me Up When December Ends! Seriously, though, if I had to choose a "favorite" "straight" Christmas tune, it would have to be Stevie Nicks' rendition of Silent Night. In a word: beautiful. Jimmy Buffett's Christmas Island is up there on my list as well. And Keith in his post below, reminded me of the classic Father Christmas. Gee, I hope Santa will bring me a couple tons of coal on Chrismas so I can heat my house this winter!

Peace. On Earth, or wherever you may roam. Happy New Year, too.

Star 94 plays this obnoxious "Hey Santa" song from what sounds like those cursed Wilson Philips. That, the Shoes, and any of those screwy remakes specifically designed for the Christian AC format.

One of my favorites.

Also I like "Father Christmas" by the Kinks.

Anything by Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis, Perry Como, Andy Williams and that ilk.

I love rock and roll. Non rock Christmas should be sent into storage in the basement.
