I'll give Chuck a try on football but the first hint of Nutt loving I will tune out if this game is on TV. I really don't care about the voice just don't care for his attitude toward "darksiders".

I'll give Chuck a try on football but the first hint of Nutt loving I will tune out if this game is on TV. I really don't care about the voice just don't care for his attitude toward "darksiders".
There are plenty of other boards spewing that kind of stuff. Think maybe could stick to radio on this one?

Deputy Dog: you're right...he's got the job because's he's Frank's boy. There's no doubt about it.
But I think your objections:
1 - voice quality. That's style not substance.
2 - flair for dramatics. The game is going to dictate that! There's no need to go crazy on the air
about a Hogs TD if they're losing by 20.
3 - class. I didn't hear what he said about terriorists, etc. But one classless statement doesn't
necessiarly mean he's a classless guy, right? Have you ever said anything on the air that
you regret?
4 - annoying. Again that's style.
I think Keith and Chuck will be a good team. Chuck will be nuts and bolts...Keith will add some flavor. Just like Chuck and Rick on baseball.
you missed the whole point....none of my opinions are based on one incident...terrorist statments...or the like....they are based on years of listening to him....not likeing his style..voice...demeanor....or anything else about him...he is the wrong man for the job...period...my opinion...not a knee jerk reaction....
and by the way...no...i dont regret anything i ever said on the air....

Barrett like Rainwater is an untrained broadcaster, with zero voice or inflection which is
needed for PBP. He will not last, he lacks the pacing & smoothness of a real pbp announcer.
That old turd Broyles should be fired for this among other things.

thats the best observation i have heard on this whole thing....thanks buddy...for being someone not afraid to speak the truth of how they really feel and not worry about whose feathers they ruffle

I have coached, hired, fired talent. Talent can improve, but there are specific skill sets required
to be a good PBB announcer. Chuck is a good talk talent and commentator. What he needs to do
is work with a coach to develop his mass-appeal announcing and observation skills.
