Cielo 92.5 lights up from Stafford

I did some digging around. Omar Romero has a background in programming Chicago, New Orleans,Los Angeles, Dallas and Houston. Here's where things get interesting...... He started a company in Houston under the name Latino Broadcasting Corporation "lbc" with Hector Guevara back around 2014. He's also Hector's son in Law. I heard it was a negative fallout of the relationship and deals gone bad. I think Hector's skeletons in the closet will be coming out soon. 🍿🍿🍿

Yea that’s been the name of the company since La Nueva, La Mejor, La Calle, Latino Sports radio (which isn’t broadcasting anymore even though they have been somewhat active on Facebook sharing videos from La Nueva).

Of course, it's all allegedly.

To further add to the development, someone is also broadcasting a dead carrier on 104.5. Both K283CH and this mystery station are fighting back and forth extremely tight between Spring and the Heights. It's made K283CH unlistenable the entire morning.

Hey I got some microwave butter popcorn on Amazon recently, pretty good value and taste good if anyone wants some.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that box of popcorn is available at Costco for about 11 dollars.

It's worth the membership IMO. Extremely generous return policy and decent credit card rewards. I personally enjoy their decently priced USDA Choice meats (hard to ruin a smoked brisket!) and their house brands rarely disappoint.

With all this is that is happening right now I forgot that BIG DOG 106 existed. The usual translator of 106.1 FM hasn’t been hurt in a while since all this started. Is it related to what’s happening?

According to FCC records, the 106 1 translator has a construction permit to move from the Chase Tower to Wells Fargo Plaza. Perhaps to broadcast multiple stations from one antenna, which is a big money-saving strategy.

Generally, a broad-band multi-station antenna with all the combiner and rejection networks for each signal is quite a lot more expensive than individual antennas.

DQMOT... But i heard the FCC was in town Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and had K291CE 106.1 shut down for excessive power and interference.
You know how stories grow after being told a few times... If you note FCC records, K291CE recently moved from Chase Tower to Wells Fargo Plaza. Had a spur on an aviation channel, but a filter took care of that. Back on now. Business as usual.

Great! Thank you for the information.

And by “business as usual” you must mean originating programming for the translators by something other than a broadcast station. Like a smartphone?

Stan the Man, don't you know an engineer's job has nothing to do with programming? An engineer"s job is to make sure the content passes through an EAS endec, gets processed for the best quality, gets into the transmitter, and is radiated from the antenna with minimal harmonics and reflection. Cell phone no, Barix box and Optimod processor, yes. Oh, and by the way, K287BQ will change its originating station on Monday. Cheers.

The engineer’s job is also to ensure the station complies with FCC regulations — but I guess you conveniently decided to leave that one out 🤷🏻‍♂️

I didn't even know it had one. What is the current originating station?
KTBZ, supposedly, according to the purgery submitted on the FCC app. IIRC he’s going to try and claim that K287BQ is translating KTWL, which is impossible, and again, purgery.
