Cindy Bradley - Unscripted

Cindy...Cindy...Cindy. I have myself a new cjazz crush!!! ;D All I can say about this one is, "Instant classic." I added EVERY single cut on the CD, EVERY one. Even thought about adding the prelude and interludes, and I might yet combine the 4 of them for a special "Unscripted" Medley. Move over Chris Botti. Move over Rick Braun. Love you guys, but there is a new sheriff in town as far as trumpeters go, and HER name is Cindy Bradley. The dirty trumpet, the flugelhorn, Cindy does it all to perfection here. Diversity in tempo and tons of vibe. Very few CDs have moved me quite like this one in 25 years of listening to this music. She's beautiful, and she has SICK skills. Really liked her debut, but it doesn't come close to this one, IMO.

BTW, while I am at it, the latest shipment from Trippin' n Rhythm was nothing short of spectacular. Kudos to Jeff Lunt and the gang. One of the nicest and hardest working guys in the business. Solid efforts from DTTB, Bob Baldwin, and Nick Colionne. Hard to fathom that Paul Hardcastle was the weak sister of the bunch. A couple decent cuts from Hardcastle VI, but nothing that really blew me away. I like Paul, but I think Mr. Smooth has given him a little too much consulting advice over the years. Here's hoping he rediscovers his vibe.

Unscripted blew me away too...it's real contemporary jazz, not smooth jazz - too much going on. Musicianship, songwriting, production, even packaging - everything is perfect. She does have sick skills and I think all those years of sitting in with the hardcore New York guys, who didn't exactly welcome her to the stage with open arms because she's a chick, gave her an edge that these LA guys just don't have. You gotta be major to hang in NY and if you're female ya gotta be beyond major just to crack into the club. And I love it that she teaches kids. I also love the red dress and offered to take it off her hands when she comes to jax.

I must admit that I love this cd. I stayed way away from her first one but REALLY like this one. Definitely defining where the music needs to go. Soooooo Fresh!

Bob Baldwin was also in that bunch from Trippin, nothing new or exciting on this one in my opinion.

Nock

I don't know whether Cindy's CD is a new revelation but to me-It's avery good CD that sometimes gets her lost in the production. a Live Drummer would
have brought the vibe a little more natural. Saying that It's a lot better then the other TNR CDs I've heard recently

I agree with you all, I really like what I'm hearing from her. Plus, she's a fox on the new album cover. ::) ;D (Sorry, just the guy in me. :p)
