Clear Channel Blows Up The Harbor. Now Evolution 101.7

Let's wait until the Holiday season is over and the kids are back in college before we write this off.

Most format flips "flush the cume" of the prior station. The Harbor was flatlined at an average of 1.46 and wasn't trending upwards. That probably influenced the decision to flip.

Where did you find those rations cause I want to look at the other stations too. Is it a weekly ratings site?

The poster who posted those numbers has violated the terms of this website as well as contract terms from the provider of those numbers. Those are not public numbers, they are available to subscribers only. Furthermore it is raw meter data which doesn't correlate to share or other ratings data in any meaningful way. Yes you can tell some things from them but it is much more complicated than that.

Probably a Greater Media employee trying to quiet down all the talk about Evolution 101.7's launch to make way for whatever is coming from GM on Wednesday.

As they say, when you blow up a station, you want to blow it up real good because you do not want any hints of the old format left when you do.

Evolution's mix show line up is doing a phenomenal job tonight. Calvin Harris,Swedish House Mafia so far have delivered. I'm partying to this in Cleveland...we can use something like this here too.

I only heard the Swedish House Mafia, but it was really a terrific ride of a mix. Exhilarating radio.

I wonder what CC's expectations are for this station. Would a 1.5 be satisfactory, providing the listeners are all in the demographic sweet spot? A 2.0? Just about all of this music and its performers are complete unknowns to non-dance fans, there's been very little crossover. So what, realistically, can CC want?

Based on the signal, 101.7 cannot realistically compete with the big boys with any format. The only thing that can possibly work is a niche format with a laser focused desired demo. That is what they are doing now. They don't need to get big numbers because with that signal they can't.
