I'm still not sure why CC saw a hole in the market for country. I think they felt Lite's billings had hit their ceiling, probably somewhere around $15 million, and they looked at Kicks' high billings and thought they could do better with country. But that's still a decision that's puzzled me.
This rumor died faster then Mix, Max or Real Radio!

Don't forget Wild 96.7 and Cool!

Something needs to happen to this pathetic radio market.............................
Thank you! I just moved here from a Top 20 a little farther down the ladder and boy have I been frustrated trying to find quality radio. Is there a history here? I've been in smaller markets with far better programming.

Back in June there was talk of the project going "all talk" - wonder if thats whats up.

Gee, that sounds exciting. :p ::) :-\ :-X

That isn't going to happen. However, it would be nice if we had a good talk station in town -- somewhere between Free FM and entertaining political hosts. Mix it up...left, right, center and stuff guys care about besides sex talk and the grotesque.

Less then 24 hours to go until this rumor falls by the roadside. :)

Well, It's 9/20/07.....anyone spot any Dolphins in the market? (flippers)

As so many would like that to happen, the FM talks around the country are failing. There are some that are successful, but I fear that if it's tried here, it'll probably be Planet Radio, or Real Radio (whatever it was, I wasn't in the market when that horror story went down) all over again.

Atlanta's radio dial is stuck in neutral. Not going anywhere.
But 92.9 and 99.7 , like I have said need to do something and fast .. Thier number's are abysmal.

The Fall Book started yesterday. Don't you think that anyone changing formats would have done it pryor to the book?

Latest ratings are showing Viva 105.7 is fastly tanking, while El Patron 105.3 is growing rapidly. This rumor may involve Viva. Knowing Clear Channel, anything is possible.

With El Patron appearing to have the greater potential, CC might want to consider switching frequencies. El Patron would go to 105.7, and Viva would move back to 105.3 (where it started). Another reason this might be a good idea is because 102.3, with a format similar to El Patron, is doing so well in Gwinnett County. The 105.7 signal is much stronger in Gwinnett than 105.3.

If any CC station it is flipping it is Viva. 96.7 too weak and I believe about to be jettisoned.

Ding Ding Ding. Not sure how you guys missed this (I actually saw a van with the new station on it in Peachtree City the other day and remembered this thread) but I give you 96.7 LITE FM!!!!

wow, didn't CC flip the LITE FM format to 96.7 when THE BULL went to 94.9? Wasn't that months ago?

Actually, even older than that. They simulcasted for a month or two before the flip.
