One of the more familiar sqawks here is that HD Radio offers more of the same programming heard on traditional FM stations.
Of course, nothing could be further from the truth...
Have you checked out Clear Channel's Format Lab? http://music.formatlab.net/
With rare exceptions, I can't hear most of those formats on regular AM and FM here!
There's an Americana channel, AAA, several dance formats, a hip-hop / rock hybrid channel, classic country, comedy, 70s/80s alternative, showtunes, all 80s, all party songs, standards and even a cardio/workout channel.
A few markets have Americana on traditional AM/FM, a few have AAA, many have classic country but many do not.
I've never heard a hip-hop / rock hybrid, 70s/80s alternative, showtunes, party songs or workout formatted station.
How someone could be so oblivious as to say HD Radio is more of the same is beyond me! ;D
