CLEAR CHANNEL GUILLOTINE STILL WORKS

Voicetracking or not, my XM gives me a heck of a lot more variety. If you don't like country or classic rock, then it's pretty hard to be satisfied with the Central PA market. I've got a variety of rock formats that play music I like, so I'm willing to pay for it. Plus I get access to talk and sports that I wouldn't have access to otherwise.

If you like the formats we have in this area, great. Nothing wrong with FM or even AM. But if you're not into anything they're playing on traditional radio, satellite is a great option.

I totally agree. We're in the process now to purchase satellite radio. I'm very much willing to pay for what I want and not being harnessed to what little is available locally. A lot of people pay to watch television, why not enjoy radio for a change.

Sad indeed! I struggled in the Albuquerque market. Never got career traction til after I got axed for the 3rd time; I gave up on "The Duke City" and headed east across NM, where a "Mom & Pop" station took a chance on me. And that is where this baby-boomer became a late-bloomer. I flourished at KTNM, while earning extra income stringing for three Amarillo "media", one of them a TV station.

Each of my firings in Albuquerque were justified. Was too green to cut it in a medium sized market.
But I will always cherish the opportunity Smokey Joe and Dixie gave me back in '73.

I don't know, I would say Hall is more humane than CC and/or Cumulus. I think they only time they had to let people go was when they flipped over 92.7 from smooth jazz to classic rock.
 
The only people let go when Hall switched 92.7 from smooth jazz to classic rock were two voice trackers who lived out of market. Actually, that move added to the Hall staff because Justin Broka's move from 101 The Rose Morning show to 92.7 afternoon drive opened up a spot on the Rose Morning show which Bryan Jordan has filled. Sort of a refreshing change of pace, eh? Adding to staff rather than cutting.
