=DAVID KAYE:

You really started something with this Polka thing.

This weekend I told my wife about all this and she divulged a family secret.....she said "I know how to do the Shodish!" and then she proceeded to demonstrate, without music! She said it was the only dance her father could do. No ethnic connection either. He was English/Canadian.

There's a Polka King who plays Vegas every once in awhile, Jimmy Sturr who plays rock songs as Polkas. I interviewed him, he tours the country. He's Irish but grew up in a Polish community in NY state.

I think the 93.3 transmitter moved from Candlestick to San Leandro around 89 or 90. I worked for KSFO/KYA then and I remember there was this big hoopla surrounding the move. Big mistake.
