Clear Channel Trimming the fat...

This would be a great time to rid ourselves from "The Showgram", and put on Imus!!!

To borrow from WYSP Philadelphia (circa 1980's)(again) "Imus All Morning, Whatever Music All Day" (I do not know what their music format is called)

I know, Bob is like God, The Showgram earns 40 billion dollars a year, 98.9 % listen to the Showgram, Clear Channel would go broke if Bob left, Bob is the best thing to radio since KDKA came on in 1920.

To save many attacks, I was joking (kind of) ;)

Stuart "Big Ape All Morning, Whatever Music All Day" Hmmmm...

There's no good time to be fired. Trust me on this. However, getting sacked at holiday time is not so bad, mainly because that time of the year is perfect for five day benders on scotch, valium and french fries.

Watch it! Those fries will kill you! ;-)

Apparently, Nick Allen will "replace" him. Most likely, Nick will program both WLYT, Charlotte and WMAG.

Nick was WMAG's PD until about four years ago, when he got the job in Charlotte.

Correct. Nick will handle both WLYT, Charlotte and WMAG in Greensboro, most presumably like John Roberts handles PD duties at WKKT in Charlotte and at WTQR.

Disturbing that CC is heading this way as it really doesn't seem to be working for WTQR (although there could be many other reasons behind that).

Nobody is "replaced" in big corpo radio. People are fired and their duties are consumed by some drone in another market. This is called "doing more with less" or "right-sizing." In an honest society, we'd call it what it is: being screwed by a heartless monolithic entity. Sort of like the Borg.

Yep. Unless things have changed from what I was told, Nick will stay in Charlotte and try the same thing. But I agree Doug. It's not working for TQR so WTF. But what do I know, I'm not in a suit so I don't know what the hell I'm doing, right?

The WMAG PD was also their Midday person. Wonder what they'll do in Midday? Voice-Trak? Nick Allen should understand the GSO market and WMAG's audience, but seems like he'll be spread pretty thin.
