Clear Channel Wheel of Misfortune

Here’s a sorry headline: 810 WGY airs canned news Sunday Morning. And it wasn’t even delivered by a newsman. Ole Jock Jimmy 5¢ suited up for the dying team. This is probably the first time since 1922 that a live voice hasn’t announced the news in the morning. It would appear the last bits of veneer are being chipped off the old girl. And Voice Track says “the cuts aren’t over.” What’s next Marge as news director? Let’s hear it for all the mega-media conglomerates that gobbled up more than they could chew. You have destroyed an industry! Ashes, Ashes, they all fall down.
 
Joke in the building is will the last person turn the light switch off? while we are on cuts what about at b95. they have these new screatchy horrible jingles. why not save a job instead of buying a new jingle package. someone with a tin ear should be put out to pasture for buying those jingles. worst i ever heard.
 
It sounds like the WPYX part-timers have been shown the door too. This weekend I have noticed...All syndicated jocks....All the time!!!

Hi Zeb, Just a thought. Call Pyx and ask for John Cooper. Explain to him what you want to do. I'm sure he'll help you to help him..After 25 years (??) , a lil respect, eh??

He and I used to do college radio together 30+ years ago at WMUA, @
Univ. of Mass., Amherst. He is in good spirits, and contemplating his next move...
