CNN: 6 Year Old Boy In Colorado Flying Alone In A Gas Balloon

Boy is still missing and could have fell out of the balloon somewhere.

Boy found safe at home.

Found hiding in a box, in the attic! Gives new meaning to being grounded! :D

On a TV related note, CNN was a good 6 minutes behind ABC and Fox News (didn't track the others) in reporting that the boy was found. Wolf was too busy fiddling around with that video wall in the Situation Room - moving it, touching it, squeezing it and repeatedly showing video of some little thing dropping from the balloon. They were beating that video to death and inferring it meant bad news while everyone else was reporting on how the kid was found safe.

Way to go CNN - keep shooting for last place!

The kid needs a major "time out" -- his 9 year old brother should be grounded till the end of the year for saying that his brother had "flown in the sky," and his wacko dad should pay first responders and the Army National Guard for their work. (That won't happen.) And mom ... well, she needs some counseling in putting up with that brood, especially the husband who allows the crap coming out. What next?

May just be me, but there is something very strange about this story. First, this family has a history of wanting/needing attention...many youtube videos, a stint on "Wifeswap", then an odd appearence on Larry King Live tonight. Even their press appearence this afternoon seemed a bit rehearsed. I hesitate to add any more judgement, but the whole thing smacks of pre-rehearsed answers, and all the family seems quite comfortable in front of the cameras. Hey, I'm glad the boy was not hurt, but I'm wondering what this is REALLY all about. I have no answers, but something in my media-gut says something ain't right. Anybody else get the same vibe?

Hi Guys,

First I have to agree w/ searadiofreak this does sound strange to me too. And since i'm in CO. I want to comment on this. Earlier this afternoon there was rumor that the dad was videotaping the whole thing. Iam not entirely sure if thats the case or not but if it is then getting the media all over it is very odd. and last but not least I really do believe this is a hoax.

Well, the little scamp all but confirmed it on the show, after being prodded by his pop to explain why he didn't respond to their calling his name while he hid in the garage, he said, "You had said we did this for a show."

Looks like Balloon Boy has been busted!

No, I think DAD has been busted. I just watched the replay of the Wolf Blitzer interview on Larry King Live -- and the kid clearly said, "You said ... do it for the show." Dad then cleared his throat and said, "Aw, man ..." and Mom leaned in and said, "No ..." The Falcon ratted out his DAD! Now, word is, that tips have poured into the Larimer County Sheriff's Dept. with the link above (thanks, DtotheJ,) that an investigation is to be talked about sometime Friday.

I hope Mommy & Daddy (specially him,) get major B U S T E D!

If true, no timeout for that kid. He ought to have a parade in his honor. And reform school for the 9-year old who said he saw his bro fly in the sky.

So much for being "last" on that story, Larry ...

"Ft. Collins, Colorado ... hello."

And as people on the Internets are claiming, at that moment, you could hear Richard crap his pants, so to speak... Play it at 0:40.

And then there were their appearances on the Today Show and Good Morning America today. The parents barely reacted to Balloon Boy vomiting, in fact on GMA it wasn't until Diane Sawyer pointed it out that the mother did anything.

My favourite comment on Balloon Boy today was from Anderson Cooper on tonight's 360: "I hope this is the last time we talk about it." The media coverage is just feeding what they want, I think.

I totally understand AC's comment, but I'm afraid his hope has little chance of happening. This story will not go away until the dad admits guilt, or the police totally clear him. Could happen in the next 24 hrs. though, that's the only positive here.

Jon Gosselin now must be laughing all the way to the bank over this. He's got to be soooo thankful that this mental midget famewh**e came along at just the right time.

Kate, too, for that matter. Mrs. Heene doesn't seem so tightly wrapped, either. "Uh, you want to go help your son?" Diane Sawyer said as the mighty Falcon tosses his cookies on his second live shot of the morning on GMA & Today.

What are these people thinking? And the YouTube crap-rap video is atrocious. "Hi de ho ..."

Anderson Cooper must have left a note, "Do not call me for anything over the weekend. Let Larry King deal with it."

No Christmas for that family, I hope. Maybe a huge bill from taxpayers that will bankrupt these people.

I think they should have to pay for all of the emergency services and for the delays at Denver Airport and CPS needs to take action on them as well. They are f****n idiots trying to get more plublicity after there deal with Wife Swap and thier storm chasing thing.

And let's not forget the people who own the wheat field who just lost 2 years of income as first responders -- doing their job -- had to trash that field to find absolutely nothing.

That's gonna hurt.

It takes two years for a wheat field to be ready for planting and it was just at harvest time.

I hope they landowners get dibs at the first bill sent to those morons.
