On the other side of the border, I don't think I ever heard XHITZ-Tijuana ever spell out their call sign the entire time I lived in San Diego. They'd just say "Zeta Noventa, Baja California, Mexico." Now that it's no longer Califormula, they spell it out: "equis-hache-eee-te-zeta, Tijuana Baja California, Mexico" sped up so fast in Pro Tools that it blows by you in about a second and a half.
