Today's Christian Music?
From what I hear, Salem has already begun the paper work to have that fixed.

Today's Christian music is something that could apply to most stations, like safe for the whole family. Perhaps I should go copyright the word "Christian"...something to think about. There is a positive to trademarks and copyrights: when effective the brand name over takes the actual product name (eg. Klenex, Windex vs. tissues and glass cleaner).

There are plenty of groups that already think they have the copyright on the word "Christian". I'm more and more convincd that evangelicalism/fundamentalism has absolutely nothing to do with what Christ actually taught.<P ID="signature">______________

Hello there i was just wondering what type of format was on 102.3 before it fliped or did they just end up on there one day and also is COX wanting to break into the CCM market b/c on the Houston Board their is some talk about a COX station fliping from "The best of the 80's and more"(i think thats their slogan) to CCM was just wondering if anyone has some info on this THANKS in Advance

Probably a waste of my breath again...but can you please tell me exactly where the Bible says it isn't Christian to protect a trademark/copyright? I'm not exactly sure how defending your branding is anti-scriptural.

Look, B, you've posted this same complaint over and over on practically every board on RadioInfo and other places, and it's long past old.
Obviously, someone claiming to be an evangelical has hurt you deeply. I am sincerely very sorry that that's been the case, but it's not going to be sovled or resolved on any radio message board. Could you please stop posting that and really work on the problem out in the real world? I would personally apprectiate it very much. I don't know what I could do to help, but, if there's anything, contact me off-forum.

If you feel this is a waste of your time then why bother. I will answer though that I am for protecting trademarks. I do feel that taking a phrase that every station uses and marking it for trademark is the same as if I took "Christian" and trademarked it.

I'm with Elizabeth on this one...there's nothing wrong with a company wanting to protect their brand.
There's a price to anything. I'm sure that Cox could keep the name if they're willing to license it.

I don't think anyone "hates" Salem but I really can't speak for those here because I don't know you,I know I don't hate Salem. I do think that taking a phrase like "Today's Christian Music" and "Safe for The Whole Family" is really not being that creative. It's a phrase anyone of us would use daily and I can't believe that it could be trademarked. It's not a name like "Kleenex" or "The Wave" or "The Voice" etc. It would be compared to using "Positive" - perhaps I should go out and trade mark "Positive" &"Hits" & "Encouraging" -why not throw "Love" in too, I think you get my point.
