I found that ad somewhat offensive for several reasons.
Now the "lucky chip" ads ending is a little sick and twisted with the chip being placed down the bra of its owner.

Still they are much better than those cable TV (Cablevision?) ads with some annoying guy from Long Island yelling at you why cable is so great and Time Warner's "Cheap Cheap" series of ads.
______________

For those not in Phoenix, he was a doofus selling furniture dressed up in a cowboy outfit. A rotund fellow who suggested that if you were like him and needed to lose weight, don't. Just buy a larger sofa. He promised "buckin' good savings" as he launched his large posterior into the air to click his heels and signed off by using his fingers as pistols to "shoot down the competition". All that was missing was a promise that if you wouldn't find a better deal or his name wasn't Nathan Arizona.

He's still in business. Just saw a new commercial recently. Much, much more conventional and much, much less annoying.

Yes, they are airing in the states and are annoying the hell out of a great many people.
______________

Like fingernails on a chalkboard. I think it's called CheckTime. (How sad is it that I knew that?)

Since Arizona has no usury laws and a large transient population (i.e., here today and gone tomorrow), such businesses are pretty popular here.

Notice that they've adjusted their commercials recently? They used to sign off with the tag line "That's our spirit of service in action" but have modified it to "That our spirit of service, IN (pause) ACTION" because it sounded too much like "spirit of service inaction", which is closer to the truth.

But my favorite commercial has to be...

...the Staples Back-to-School commercial that they used to run in August & September. The background music starts off playing "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year", then the announcer chimes in, "They're going baaaaaack!!" The father is dancing through the aisles with his shopping cart while loading it with back-to-school supplies; meanwhile the kids are plodding along behind with a priceless glum look on their faces.

I don't think they run it anymore - too bad.

I hate the "NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV" commercial. They keep singing that stupid song with a bunch of guys parading down the street.

Hands down - P.Diddy & Lee Iacocca...

Are they trying to sell me a car? Or maybe a golf-cart. I don't know.

For a company with as much ad budget as MB-C, they sure got taken by some ad agency.

Last night it ran back to back to Greyhound's beautiful new ad. Both are obviously targeting "Afer-Americans" (Greyhound employs Wanda Sykes on the voice over and the only on-screen talent is black) yet it makes me want to jump on a Greyhound and see exactly what the heck they've done to those buses that makes them seem so appealing.

In fact, I'd rather take the bus than drive whatever it is that P.Did/Lee are advertising.

It's Snoop Dogg, not P-Diddy

And it's Diddy, not P Diddy.

As Snoop wpuld say, "If the ride is fly, then you must buy."

All of which proves how ineffective those ads are beyond a specific demographic.
______________

Thanks for coming to the rescue there KM. At least I knew it wasn't "FiddyCent". :)

Myself included!!

ALL the local Sioux City TV stations are running that STUPID commercial, and I wish they'd STOP running it!!

For one reason, we DON'T have a Wendy's here in Storm Lake!! They do in Sioux City, but not here.

For another, the Ranch Tooth guy just DRIVES ME NUTS!! :(

Heck!

I still remember, when I was a kid growing up in the 1970's, McDonald's did the "You Deserve A Break Today!" ads!!

Those ads (IMHO) were a LOT better than the current ones!!

But the Ronald McDonald "extended" ads during the ENTIRE commercial break sometimes on TOON Disney's "JETIX" block are EXTREMELY ANNOYING!!

Those are like Ronald McDonald trying to mimic the successful live children's TV show formats of the 1970's and before! VERY VERY TACKY!!
