Commercials that have been airing for years

Just saw one more:

The Castrol GTX commercial where the guy is chugging up the highway (presumable with engine trouble) and the troopers on the side of the road with the rader gun:

Trooper one: "How fast? 16??"

Trooper two: *chuckles* "Hehe, yeah!!!!" ;D

And another right after that one!

the Aflac commercial with the goat eating the paper work in the office (We didn't purchase Aflac, we got something else") ;D ... that one has been popping up again lately as well 8)

And it has two separate/alternate endings:

1. With the Aflac goose chasing him out of the building, and

2. The goat is wearing a fake goose bill and in a deep voice says "NAflac" ;D :D :p

Wal-Mart's Christmas commercial... the one where the cashiers are doing a light show with their lane number lights. They bring it out year after year.

Kraft Holiday commercials.Good ole Kraft recipes were also listed in TV Guide too.
Good luck trying to find them online, because Kraft would sell off some of their brands to other companies (i.e., Parkay margarine to ConAgra) years later!

In the Cleveland Ohio market there was an ad that began running in the 1950s (or no later then the early 1960s) which had a very memorable tune and music for the phone number... "Garfield 1-2323, Garfield 1-2323". The firm held onto that number and they were still running that tag line grafted on to new spots into the mid-late 1980s (maybe even the early 1990s!), even though nobody gave out phone numbers with letters like GA 1-2323 anymore. Now with the advent of phones with no letter listings, and area code changes, it makes it tough to use that number. Too bad. Too bad.

Somewhat related to this topic ..when Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper did their "throwback" thing recently, I am surprised they didn't bring back their old ads as well since many of them ( at least from the 80's anyway ) they really wouldn't be all that dated such as those "Be A Pepper" or "Do The Dew" ads. Even the Pepsi/The Jacksons ad could work as well despite Michael's death.

The Jewelry Exchange

Baby boomers who grew up in the Los Angeles area will remember the Mission Pack holiday commercials. I believe they were decorated holiday baskets filled with meats, cheeses, fruits, etc. The ads were animated and featured Santa singing the catchy Mission Pack jingle: "no gift so bright, so gay, so right..."

They ran from the 60s at least until the late 70s, and got very outdated, not only for the traditional meaning of "gay," but for the phone number in the jingle - "ADams 2-4184," at least a decade after the conversion to all-digit dialing.

The Bud Christmas commercial aired during today's DAL @ IND NFL game on Fox.
Has Miller's commercial (with the one horse open sleigh) aired this season yet?
How about the Coca-Cola commercial with the polar bears?

The Ambulances...and the phones the operators use are right out of the late 1980's, lol. Hope they finally got to her in time.

As for the Miller Holiday commercial, I haven't seen it for 2010, but the Budweiser sleigh one just ran this afternoon.

"Ah man, I was just gonna post that (Tootsie Roll Pops)! Is it still being run? It originally came out in 1968/69 (!!). On YouTube is the original 60-second version of it, the way it was supposed to be run."

I still see it on KPTV and KRCW from time to time, usually during the cartoon blocks on Saturday mornings (gotta watch my Dragon-ball Z! ;o) And it is the one with Mr. Bernadi speaking over the music. I think KPTV's been airing it since it first came out.....

I remember seeing a computer-animated "remake" of this commercial a couple times, but I don't think it lasted very long. I haven't seen it in maybe 5-6 years or so.

@radiorama1--
Your "do you like to sketch or doodle" place is a correspondance course called "Art Instruction Schools". The commercials with the white-haired guy were found airing on KGW's feed of "Weather Plus+" right up until WP+ croaked.

I remember Folgers Coffee, for years, ran the same Christmas commercial:

College-age kid gets out of a VW bug in front of a snow-covered home, lets himself in the door and brews a pot of coffee. The parents are woken by the fresh coffee smell and know their son made it home in time for Christmas. Hugs, tears. The best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup!

Update: youtube has it: "Peter Comes Home" Interesting note is that the "mother" in this spot posted in the comments. it's a neat read!

It's likely been 5 or 6 years since I've seen it, but have noticed they re-shot it with new actors and a little more "background" (the son was in West Africa).

Both bring tears to my eyes.

I used to see the Art Instruction Schools commercials a lot. I saw one recently. Those people are really talented.
