"Coronet Blue"

If Herb Brodkin had just been able to get Frank Converse
to come back and do a final episode answering all the hanging
questions; particularly, just who was Michael Alden anyway?

Wow: I was just thinking about this show last week. I specifically remember an episode with Dick Clark (making his dramatic acting debut, I think) as a sleazy record-company exec. His biggest artist is killed in an accident and he makes a fortune releasing posthumous singles that all shoot to the top of the charts. And then the big reveal in the last act is that the singer isn't really dead -- Clark has been keeping him prisoner in the basement of his mansion, forcing him at gunpoint to record new songs! I often wonder if Elvis (or Jim Morrison) saw that episode...

Dick Clark made his dramatic acting debut in 1960 in "Because They're Young", featuring Duane Eddy and Bobby Rydell.

Clark had already played dramatic roles on two TV series, BURKE'S LAW and PERRY MASON.

-SPOILER ALERT-
In both cases, he was revealed to be a murderer.
