Poor KGB - they don't have a decent jock on the air these days to save their lame ass. With the exception of the DSC in the morning & at night, they've gone totally male. Does the "G" now stand for Guys or Gays? Where have all the great broads gone? Bobby Hill aint even on Saturday nights - I called in last week and requested " a little Ian Anderson and friends"....the mummble mouth on the air didn't know who I was talking about! He must be the newest board op - most of those 12 year olds know more about the music than the lousy p.d.
Big CC V.P. was in town last week and insiders are waiting for the "trimming to continue" here. Just bring back our KGB Broads, please! 8)

The women in radio probably don't want to work for a station where the listeners refer to them as "broads."

Thanks for noticing! David, I meant no disrespect to the talented "chicks" that have graced the KGB airwaves over the years. I just miss Coe, Bobby and Cindy.........they're great Broads! KGB sucks without them.

Yeah and the ones on the morning show - especially the S of DS&C - are mainly there for background giggles.
 
The axe swung in the news department at Clear Channel yesterday - lopping off Wade Douglas and Marilyn Hyder - always among the top radio journalists in the San Diego market. Sad to see them go. The only good news would be if the axe gets rid of that lame p.d. who's screwed up KGB. :(
 
I believe Shelly, as well as Dave, Cookie, and Boyer, would all take exception to the description of Shelly mostly being there for the background giggles. Shelly is an integral part of the show, and has been for years.

Yes, I agree, her background giggles are very well integrated into the show, much like the laugh track on a sitcom.
 
Bob - Don't be that guy.....the "bitter never made it to the big leagues ex-station employee" with too much free time. Shelly Dunn is talented and making more money than you. Now, get over it! ;D

Yeah, working at low life places like KABC and KHJ made me bitter ::)

DSC is great if you're adult who hasn't had their fill of peepee jokes, but the talent of one or two people has kept the entourage employed for a long time there. More power to them, but don't confuse luck with talent.
 
i think your talking about ruth 66 doing the background giggles.it seems like ever since jim richards took over,everything got screwed up.ask him sometime to play sky pilot by eric burdon .he hates that song.when did nervana become classic rock??same with american woman by lenny cravits??w.t.f.??????? ???

Actually I think she's one of the more talented people there :) (I knew her when she was young, slim, and a babe, albeit not a straight one: but she always had the best looking women in town at her parties).

KGB is no longer a rock station: they've apparently decided they can make all the money they need to make from the DSC show and the only reason they have any music programming at all is because it would seem really weird to re-run the same show 24 hours a day (oh right, they do that on their HD radio channel).
 
Anyone who listens to Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw for more than two minutes certainly has an IQ of......well go figure.
 
Sorry to hear about Marilyn Hider & Wade Douglas, 2 of the most experienced radio news people in town. I can recall Wade Douglas when I was a kid reporting on (at that time) a huge East County in 1970. I bet he's been on the air in San Diego for 40 years. They should name a frigging street for this guy or give him an award for all the great reporting over the years, not fire the man.
 
What I should have said was Douglas reporting on the East County in the fall of 1970.

Bottom line - KGB is no longer the "great rocker" {by San Diego standards} that it once was or could be. SO let's all call KGB middays and make that idiot play Sky Pilot/Burden just to "f" with him! Nirvana ain't classic rock, neither is Marcy Playground or Three Doors Down, all of which the moron p.d. has added to "fix the music" because his little handbook of research told him to do it. He's a by the book kind of dork!
But on the upside - it's good media hack Chris finally found out about the KOGO layoffs................

It pains me to report this pathetic stoopid dismal move by Clear Channel. Clearly (no pun intended) driven by the private buy out. :mad: ???

In my post at SDRadio.net I have to apologize to the rat bastards bean counters on Monday -- as I put CCU and rat bastard bean counters in the same group. The bean counters are above the CCU manglement.
 
Media Hack Chrismeister - say it ain't so! Don't apologize to the rat bastard bean counters. They lost two of the best reporters in town - just to save a few bucks for the new owners - that might be business but it's wrong. The question remains - can KGB be saved? ???

I have too, RBBC might call me and complain. CCU cannot call as phones were an expense and have been already cut.
