Corporate Killed The Radio Star

Another week of cut backs begin at CC San Diego. Employees must be walking on eggshells not knowing who's going to be dropped next. Question: how long will a corporation keep a p.d.{who's pulling down an o.m. salary even after demotion} when the only station he's responsible for is circling the drain? ???

KGB circling the drain is a little off...they billed revenues of over 13 million last year, and are still one of the top Adult 25-54 stations, and DSC are still one of the top rated morning shows, last book #1 (tied with a Spanish station) A 25-54.

MJ - have you got any recent numbers? The DSC have been supporting KGB for the past 5 years - look at the numbers outside the morning show......Jack get's higher midday and afternoon numbers than 101.5. One station can't support an overpaid p.d. who's ultimately killing the golden goose. :(

You gotta wonder why KGB even needs a program director these days? It's not like they have any say-so in regards to DSC and they have, what, two non-DSC weekday shows? I think KGB should eliminate those two shows and just use voice track jocks from Bakersfield in middays and afternoons.

Those are the numbers from the last book. I understand DSC drives the overall station numbers, but packaging dayparts is how many stations sell. They are just going to let you buy morning drive, and the price would be prohibitive.
